Kerry Wynn is signing a 1-year deal with the Bengals, per source. He spent five years with the Giants and had 4.5 sacks. Versatile DL and strong special-teamer. Tied for second on team last season with 8 ST tackles. Giants were in mix but Wynn decided for fresh start in Cincy.
I know nothing is official yet, but the front 7 players on D are scary. BJ Hill and Tomlinson are the only two that seem to be capable starters right now. DG MUST find better Dline and LBer talent in this draft.
It's shocking how many players are signed away from this roster. 6 guys. And only 1 signed that counts against the comp formula. Wild. BBI Free agent loss tracker. - ( New Window )
However, considering that the league is limited to a total of 32 picks and no team can get more than 4 picks, it is probable that the GIANTS will not get full comp pick value for all the guys lost as free agents again this year.
They recently lost a 7th rounder they would have otherwise had due to the 32 total pick limitation.
Also remember that the secret formula for comp picks apparently takes into account things like whether or not a guy actually makes a team, playing time, post-season honors, and other factors. A lot of this won't be determined for some time anyway. Projections by OTC and others are only their best guesses, and as we saw this year, not always correct.
I will be very surprised if the GIANTS get more than 2 comp picks next spring.
And Kerry Wynn is one guy I really did not want to see go.
but I'm glad the Giants moved on as he wasn't a factor as a pass rusher. He did play well early in the year and appears to be a better fit as a 3-4 DE but he once again disappeared for most of the season after a couple of good games early on.
With 12 picks I expect the Giants to add at least one 3-4 OLb and DE. I think they will also use a day three pick on a nose tackle.
a starter in three years, than you need to go. Seems like this is whats happening in the Giant rebuild(pun intended) and hopefully will lead to a more talented roster and a better record.
At the Nose you have Rodney Gunter who previously played for Bettcher in Arizona. And Caraun Reid who is from the Bronx and played for Princeton had a solid year with the Cowboys last year.

I guess Bill Parcells forgot about Robbie Jones, and Jeff Hostetler.

He was an extremely useful and productive giant. A loss in a world of loss
Always made a play or two when he was in there.

Well, we still have Kyle!
If we take Haskins, I would think he's not better than 50/50 to stick.
and didn't do squat other than that Texans game last year?
I know people show bias toward their own players, especially Giant fans but lol, who cares

They are in serious need of another DE and nose tackle.

On the edge, Benson Mayowa is still out there.
I guess Bill Parcells forgot about Robbie Jones, and Jeff Hostetler.
