Tom Pelissero & #10004; @TomPelissero After consulting his calendar, Kentucky edge Josh Allen told me he has 5 visits set: #49ers, #Raiders, #Bucs, #Giants and #Lions. He met with Giants yesterday and had dinner with Oakland GM Mike Mayock, DB coach Jim O’Neil and teammates Lonnie Johnson and Mike Edwards. 1:45 PM - Mar 22, 2019 · Kentucky, USA |
As it should be.
I agree, but the Giants have the draft capital to try and trade up if they wanted to draft a specific player, except Murray who the Cards seemed to be locked on.
The 2 players who seem most possible to get selected are the LSU guys - Devin White specifically seems like someone who could surprise and go in the top 5. Last year nobody expected Denzel Ward to go #4. Cornerbacks are a premium and Greedy Williams has elite size, speed, and production. I wouldn't bet on it, but I could see how for certain teams/schemes those 6 players could be selected over Allen (Oak?).
I highly doubt anyone would take any of the other edge guys like Gary or Sweat over Allen, but it's not completely out of the realm either.

If Sweat didn't have that heart condition I could see him going over Allen with someone trading up for him. A 6'6" 260 guy running a 4.41 seems almost inhumane so someone was going to fall in love with him.
Could happen if 2 teams trade up for QB.
3 QBs in the top 5 could make it happen.
Murray #1
Bosa #2
Q. Williams#3
Raiders trade out Haskins(Bengals)
Tampa trades out Lock (Denver)
Giants Allen
Could happen. Be prepared for anything
for anyone unless they are sold on a QB .
Only guy that might be is Haskins IMO
From what I’ve read, Gruden is still heavily involved in the personnel side so I wonder how much authority Mayock actually has.

In a press conference Mayock flat out said that Gruden has final say over all personnel matters. Mayock is basically an assistant GM to Gruden.

That sounds about right.
