This case has probably been debated on BBI numerous times, particularly in relation to Serial, which I have not listened to, but WTH. It’s a damn good documentary.
The defense has provided enough information in the first two episodes that gives me reasonable doubt, primarily centered around Jay Wilds. However, the one thing I can’t get past is Jennifer Pusateri’s recollection of the day of Hae Min Lee’s disappearance. That is, Jay Wilds showed up at her house that afternoon with Syed, who was acting odd.
Wilds is not a credible witness and there is something funky going on with the way he has beaten so many raps in Baltimore the past 20 years. Although he may not be telling the truthful story and may very well be the killer, I find it hard to believe that Syed was not involved at some level.
I get that. It’s new to me. Doubt I would watch had I listened to Serial. I think I need to listen to the podcast.
So he definitely was involved. But why would he kill her? It was more plausible that he took part in helping Adnan imo.
In any case, it sounds like you already are where many people wind up: it’s possible that Syed is guilty, but there’s no way he should’ve been convicted
No, it’s fiction.

Oh ok, thanks!

Actually, as of right now, I think he was involved with the murder.
I just started watching episode three of the HBO documentary, and they have done more in 15 minutes to inject reasonable doubt than the entire season of Serial.
HBO is all over the cops coaching Jay and really digging into the cell towers. Sued just does a shitty job of defending himself, however. I still think he’s guilty.
"The night of" was a remake of the british version. The wrongly convicted in their version was not muslim. I think it was a mostly white cast.
HBO does a stellar job with their documentaries imo. I agree that there is a lot of murder docs recently. Not necessarily HBO, but in general it feels like there are new ones all the time. I needed something more cheerful so I watched the downfall fall of Elizabeth Holmes
