NFT: My fantasy baseball team...

dep026 : 3/25/2019 9:19 am
Now I full know my team stinks. Every team (13) got to keep 8 guys before I had a chance to keep 8 of whatever was left. It’s a dynasty league so I kept...

Tatis
Whitley
Buxton
Haniger
Puig
Wheeler
Greinke
Meadows

C - posey
1B - Cabrera
2B - McNeil
SS - Peraza
3B - Lamb
MI - Tulo
CI - Belt
OF - Haniger
Of - Puig
OF- buxton
OF - Meadows
DH - pederson

P - Greinke
P- Wheeler
P - Archer
P - Evoldi
P - Strickland
P - Yates
P - Bradley
P - Sirokoa
P - Gray

Now I know it doesn’t look good. But I am hoping Miggy and Posey start off hot and I can trade. Love getting McNeil. Looking to get a bunch of young players and McNeil and Soroka fit what I want to do.
That looks awful

you do not have 1 round 1 or round 2 talent on your roster.
Hopefully Mets use McNeil as an everyday player.

Tatis should be a stud though

I really didn’t have a chance of getting a top tier player. With 104 players kept from the get go. I have to build a team. I feel like with what was there I did a decent job of building a team that can compete in a few years. Need some of the old heads to produce so they can be traded.
I think you've mentioned before

that you were compensated for stepping into this role in the league via not paying league dues first year.

Without that color, people are rightly going to shit on your team.

Yeah no entry fee. They wanted a 14th member.
Given that it's a dynasty league and that you're

playing for free this year, I would've not taken any player over the age of 27. Like I understand there's a huge lot of players already kept but you should have already punted on trying to win this season. Draft/keep guys with upside in the minors that might get called up soon as well as any post-hype guys that disappointed with their initial taste of the majors. Bank on talent shining through eventually. You will have to do some deep roster diving and research about lesser known names but sifting through the waiver wires and finding a gem is half the fun.

Unfortunately, guys like Miggy won't fetch asvmuch in the trade market based on his lack of long-term value. Sure if he plays like vintage Miggy, there's a chance someone will give you someone decent in return, but don't bank on it. With your situation in being the new guy in a dynasty league, IMO the key is to be fluid with your team composition. Don't worry about your ranking/how well your team is performing. Be ready to move on from anybody either via trade or free agency. Gotta start laying the foundation this year for the years to come and finding 8 young players to build around is priority #1. Good luck.

Without knowing other rosters - you should move a few sell high guys to win-now teams for some prospects. If it was my team, despite his age, I'd move Wheeler since his value is quite high right now. You may get lucky in a return for a position player - in my dynasty league someone traded Bo Bichette to get Wheeler last week.

Your OF is good - clearly the IF needs work, although Tatis will help once he comes up.

Look to the waiver wire to upgrade the bullpen. A few guys not on the radar yet could be solid and possibly closing in a short time. Kyle Zimmer on KC, for example, is probably on your wire.
Id also move Hunter Strickland

Just got two saves but is old and will probably not hold job all year. You can probably get something decent for him. Pick up Festa who should be closing in Seattle if not this year, next.
