NFT: Brooklyn Nets

With extremely difficult schedule remaining (PHI, MIL twice, BOS, TOR, IND, MIA), playoffs clearly not a given but they’re currently at 10 wins better than last year and for that, I’m satisfied. I think they’re actually a year ahead of schedule. Demanding 2-4 western trip could have been 4-2 but for heartbreakers at LAC and POR but as my grandfather used to say, “woulda coulda shoulda don’t do you no good-a”. The main point is that ownership, Marks and Atkinson have built an organization with a culture and work ethic that players have bought into and everyone around the league has taken notice. Excellent young core of Russell, Allen, Dinwiddie and Levert will only get better. Free agents will no longer laugh when the Nets say, “come play for us.” These last 7 games will be interesting but next year and beyond is where the fun really starts.
any chance

they don't extend/sign Russell and try to reel in bigger fish (Kyrie and Durant)?

need to get 2-3 wins.

yea that was as bad as DLo (and the team) has looked down the stretch

those last 6 min of regular were turnover after turnover and bad shot after bad shot.

I dont see where the 2-3 are coming from. They’re going to need some luck like the other teams have gotten (half court heaves at the buzzer, crazy refereeing, better teams sitting their best).

Probably on the outside looking in and it’s going to be a bitter pill, but we would have never expected this season. We’re going to have to keep perspective.
I don't see how the Nets move on from Russell. One of the youngest

All-Stars in the league and he is still getting better. I love this roster and it's fun rooting for a team that all loves each other and plays together. There has been little to no drama since the new regime took over.

I don't want the potential headaches that a player like Kyrie would provide, and frankly, it's not like he has propelled the Celtics to that many more wins than Brooklyn. Plus he is always hurt.
One curious move this season has been the lack of adding another big

behind Allen and Davis. I love that tandem, but they have an open roster spot and they have no one else who can slide in at the 5 in the event of foul trouble, as we saw last night.

The Nets have invested A LOT in him over the past 2 seasons and all indications are he loves the organization. I’d be floored if they don’t go all-out to sign him.
