seems largely representative of what my own picks would look like. May have played with the order a bit.
1. Fight Club
2. Matrix
3. Magnolia
4. Eyes Wide Shut
5. Being John Malkovich
It's amazing how Fight Club's message has only become more relevant today. Now, a harder question, David Fincher's best movies!

Would flip The Social Network with Fight Club and move Gone Girl behind Zodiac, but otherwise I think you nailed it. Awesome director, hope there's a new movie coming from him soon. It's been too long
He was involved with Mindhunter on Netflix which is pretty great and definitely has his trademark look and style. Hope he's not exclusively in TV though

I hated Gone Girl. Its a story of two movies, the really good first half and the terrible second half.
soundtrack (Hot for Teacher strip scene, ACDC, Foo), fantastic lines in awful accents "i dont wahnt ur liiife" and "you are the damn dumbest smart kid I know." Oh and classic Ali Larter whipped cream bikini

But each is an absolute masterwork in its own right.
Feel like Fincher has moved over to TV.

I hated Gone Girl, too, but not nearly as much as I hated Benjamin Button. Absolute garbage.
Bowfinger shout out too:
"Hey Laker Girls!?!?"
<opens trenchcoat, girls laugh>
"IT AINT FUNNY!!"
