"Avenatti alleges that both Suns rookie Deandre Ayton and University of Oregon center Bol Bol, son of former NBA star Manute Bol, received funds from Nike in the scheme but provided no specifics or evidence to support his claims.
"Ask Deandre Ayton and Nike about the cash payments to his mother and others," Avenatti tweeted Tuesday. "Nike’s attempt at diversion and cover-up will fail miserably once prosecutors realize they have been played by Nike and their lawyers at [the law firm Boies, Schiller & Flexner]. This reaches the highest levels of Nike."
Ayton, the No. 1 pick in the 2018 NBA draft, played one season for the Nike-sponsored Arizona Wildcats before turning pro. Avenatti also alleges that Bol Bol "and his handlers" received money from Nike to play at Oregon, another school sponsored by the shoe and apparel giant.
"Bol Bol and his handlers also received large sums from Nike," Avenatti continued on Twitter. "The receipts are clear as day. A lot of people at Nike will have to account for their criminal conduct, starting with [Nike's Director of Elite Youth Basketball] Carlton DeBose & moving higher up. The diversion charade they orchestrated against me will be exposed.""
Leave politics out of this... if true what does this mean for Nike? or for these 2 programs?

That's assuming its true which given the source is highly questionable.
We may have to start restricting accounts again.
Desperate attempt by a desperate POS. Guy just stole a settlement from a paraplegic and then from his partners(oh, allegedly).
but this will likely result in nothing to Nike.
I used to like their irons though until I upgraded to pings last year.

I agree about Nike products......but dri-fit clothes really are something I prefer esp at the gym.

Nike's dri-fit are nothing special. They're not bad, but companies like Brooks seem to consistently put out a better product.
Not sure if it's my he washing machine or the detergent we use, but they develop a BO-like smell to them very quickly and even when I use laundry detergent specifically made for hockey equipment the smell never comes out.
That said, Nike's are worse than others. Brooks as mentioned have a good brand (and their running sneakers are great) and I even prefer Under Armour and Adidas over Nike.
My wife teaches classes at a gym. Their uniform shirts for work are dri-fit and this happens with every single shirt she's had from them.

Have also had massive issues with dri-fit fabrics (Nike and others). All sorts of things can trap the bad smells in the fabric: hot/warm water or too hot of a dryer, dryer sheets, fabric softener. I wash them all separately- super annoying but the only way I've been able to make them last.
After sweating through it, you should rinse the clothes in cold water to get rid of the bacteria and then immediately throw them in the was or hang dry them before putting them in the laundry basket. After washing in cold water, it's better to hang dry those types of clothing.
You can also wash with some vinegar if that doesn't work.
Then they watch as tons of money their personal brand creates go go to the schools and companies while they get nothing. And they can't even sign deals to advertise products.
Its time for this to evolve with the times. You can still be amateur and make money off of your brand. There is compromise.
Even if we lose, there's a good chance the Oregon win will be vacated anyway.
Telling people. Nike Addidas and Under Armor pay kids is like telling people you heard Liberace is gay.
