Was it to provide information and to carry on the conversation; or was it to boast, or to humiliate the person you are conversing with?
No. He's a pretty good receiver and blocker, but, IMO, not as good

Sometimes people just point out humorous typos too, Doc.
There are actually more than 3-4 potential outcomes when you comment on something, but I wouldn't want to spoil your lesson.

It seems to me quite a coincidence that Fant and Hock are both so highly ranked as prospects by so many draftniks and they are both from the same school. How did Iowa manage to pull that off and why do I never hear anyone mention this as being a weird coincidence? We rarely see any TE ranked in the top 10 prospects, and here we have 2 from the same school... what gives?
I never had any brothers, so the Lord gave me you guys ! ..
After I retired, I went back to "sub" teaching for a while.
My craziest experience was in a high school high level math class. I gave the kids their assignment and told them they could get a head-start on their home work. Everybody was struggling and I was busy helping them, except ....
Five boys in the back of the class, they finished in no-time and started laughing and being loud. I quieted them down, but not for long, they suddenly got up and started punching each other in the groin ! I guess that was their daily ritual. They called it "busting balls " - just like what goes on all-day here !

He's not going to be 22 till this coming July. Wouldn't that be something to get a "two for one" - somebody that's a presence at the L.O.S. and can catch the ball !
Gronk.
Pats fans are wondering ...

I'd love to trade down to #10 and snag him.
I'll make sure to put that red poster on the wall, next time I'm having my next anxiety attack.

Yes
Yes - an Iowa Hock-eye.
There you go, Manny - I gave you something slightly wittier and equally corny to the attempted humor in the thread title. :)

Sometimes it's just to get a laugh.
Tight end? Check
Next Gronk!

LOL. Daniel Jeremiah said that Hockenson is one of the best blockers he's EVER graded at tight end. One of the best EVER.
I'm buying. Jeremiah knows his stuff.
That's the highest I've seen him rated. Jeremiah rates him #5 best. "He had multiple pancake blocks in every game I studied"

Personally, as I said before I'd trade Engram for a 2nd or 3rd round pick. (He does not fit here.)
Imagine a 2 TE set with Hock & Ellison paired with a run blocking OL?
Let Barkley run wild and Eli work play action. Tate and Latimer or Shepard out wide.
Everybody on the field can run block. And if you overplay there is enough on the field to beat you with play action.
