I didn't see a thread on the return of HBO's Barry on Sunday night.
I am so impressed by the quality of the show, and it seems to have picked up at the same very high level at which it left off last season. Even though there's a lot of overt comedy, it reminds me a bit of Breaking Bad in some ways, in terms of the suspense and the increasing stakes for the show's protagonist, especially in regards to the whole "I want out, but I can't get out" angle.
I was never a Bill Hader guy, but he is doing a phenomenal job as not only the star, but the co-creater, co-executive producer, and co-writer (as is Alec Berg, who I used to partly blame for the demise of Seinfeld in its last couple seasons).
Henry Winkler is awesome, which is no surprise. And what the season premiere did with Hank's character added an intriguing layer. The final scenes of the episodes were very strongly written and portrayed.
I really love this show. I can't wait to see where it's all going this season.
I've got coupons. Esteban, you love Dominos right?
Now we're all laughing at hand stabbing.
Took me probably a hour and a half to watch the newest episode. I kept having to rewind Noho Hank's lines. Absolutely hilarious character.
I read that he was originally supposed to die in the very first episode/pilot of the series but Hader said,"We'd have to be insane to get rid of this guy."
He’s a super nice guy!
