Hey folks, if you have any questions, drop them here & I will answer as many as I can this evening, thanks. Just an FYI though. It seems the forum is getting a little agitated? Well, here's the thing. You dog another member or curse on any of my posts, well that's not going to fly here, cool? Remember, everyone are fans and I'd hate to see blood pressure go up, thanks

It seems like Haskins is slipping. Is it possible he could even slip as far down as #17? If so, do you see Gettleman pulling the trigger?

From what you're hearing do you think the Giants take a QB early in the draft or do they attempt to surprise us and pull off a trade for Rosen?

Question about a couple WR's
SirYesSir : 4/11/2019 11:18 am : link
Can you think of a comparison in the league for Andy Isabella? I'm having a hard time picturing him, is he really potentially as good effective as a Brandin Cooks or TY Hilton? How do you view him as a prospect

A lot of people are getting excited about Mecole Hardman, at a minimum for his special teams skills, and most optimistically as a Tyreek Hill type player down the road. What are your thoughts on him?
Aside from Josh Allen, no edge rusher really seems like
Jim in Forest Hills : 4/11/2019 11:19 am : link
a game changer in this draft.

What players do you think would make the best transition into the pro game at edge rusher?
Dave
allstarjim : 4/11/2019 11:24 am : link
What is Washington going to do at 15? Do you see them taking Daniel Jones there?

If you could bet, would you say Daniel Jones will go 15 or prior, or would you say the 'Skins will trade for Josh Rosen?

Also, if Haskins slides to #17, would Gettleman take him there or punt on QB in the first round?
Viable Quaterback options
MattinKY : 4/11/2019 11:25 am : link
You have mentioned Kyle Sloter a few times and Dave Gettleman has gone on record as wanting to be the guy who brings in the next face of the franchise like E.A. did.

I will not profess to know enough about football, nor am I qualified to critique any move by the front office.

If you were GM for the Giants what would your plan be at the position?

Thanks for sharing your craft with us fans.

Dave Te question in regard to best use of the first 4 picks
Rjanyg : 4/11/2019 11:34 am : link
Pick # 6: From all accounts it seems that NYG is going defense with pick number 6 which I think is smart. Sweat or Oliver, who would you select?

Pick # 17 could be QB, OL , WR, DL, LB, CB....who do you think is a good target with that pick. I like Devon Bush.

Pick #37: Is there a QB that you think is a possible target: Finley, Grier, Stidham? I would prefer a trade for Rosen myself.

Pick #95: will Tytus Howard last until this pick?

Thanks Dave!! You da man!

While he could end up doing an Aaron Rodgers like fall on draft day, a few obvious things say it could be opposite. Miami is in pursuit of a QB & they like the kid, but both them & Washington are in the thought process they might have to trade up to get him or Lock. Miami has a pretty intense offer if the Jets are willing to move, which all indications say is likely.
as for Haskins at 6 or 17, I do not make guarantees, but for the reports I have to provide the team on draft day, Haskins never came up in the talks.

Dave, question re: Offensive Tackles
KingBlue : 4/11/2019 11:40 am : link
Dave, I've read about the difficulty in recent years to find quality prospective offensive linemen because of the change/difference in the way offense is practiced and played in college. It seems lineman are not developing as they once were. Is there any truth to this?

How many of the top tackle prospects do you anticipate to come off the board in round one? I keep reading that a prospect like Dalton Risner may make it to 37. Personally, I think Dillard, Taylor, Williams, Risner, Ford all are gone in round one.

You need to talk to DG about that. I'm DT. PS-I am the ANTI-draft analyst. I'm more about the player that who picks what. I get paid to provide teams info, what they do, is their bad.

Isabella will be an efficient slot guy, but lets get on Hardman, who I have been yelling until I am blue in the face on my Atlanta radio station that I prefer him over Ridley at the Bulldogs most dangerous weapon in this draft. He's a former QB, electrifying moves & the crazy stuff is that little guy's second level blocking! Hill, maybe not as much, but Hines Ward on speed? Yeah, this is a guy that will steal your hearts & possibly make the OBJ sting less, but I doubt the Giants will go small ball (size) at WR

I still am a Montez Sweat guy-I just think there is more to his game than some uninformed at ESPN calling him Vic Beasley 2.0. Now, Day three, I am really curious to see who ends up with that Wisconsin sleeper Andrew Van Ginkel, who would be an ideal SOLB in a 3-4

If I was DG? I'd get some honesty pills, first & understand the guys in the locker room are getting weary of him. I'd show him tapes of Carolina guys spouting "love" about his garbage. Then, I'd draft D-at least my first three picks, unless Butler or Harry are there at 37. Let's face it, are you, the fan going to sit & do squat during another losing season? They are committed to Eli & ownership even gave a hint they may not like the QB crop by saying Eli can still be at the helm in 2020! That tells me a Sherman "tank" is the 2019 season & line up for Fromm in the 2020 draft. So, why not get a bunch of young D guys (any combo of Sweat, Gary, Burns, Lawrence Murphy or Baker will do for me in RD 1), get the learning curve over & have my D on all 8 cylinders by 2020.
George From PA
nflscouting : 4/11/2019 11:54 am : link
All the crap from Del Rio & Cowherd about Wilson is just that. I doubt SEA lets him walk. Yeah, they talk about Sherman & others, but ownership is in a flux & besides, using a part of Hulk Hogan, "what ya goin' to do" when you have to hand him 30 mil per & still have Eli's contract. How'd you like 20 mil sitting on your pine?

A steal in RD 3, because several teams will use the surgical issue to drop him, but that dude is a young Mike Vrabel. With a pair of 2s & my connections there, don't be surprised if the Chess Master using one of his 2s to take him to NE if they don't pull the big deal up to get Hockenson that will short them a 1, 2 & 3

I like your list, but think the rush on edge rushers early & then the grabs for CBs later in RD 1 could push Risner & Ford to RD 2. Hey, keep #37 open for a guy I say will be Hernandez like Year One-Greg Little. A few OTs that could be studly later in Day 2 are Howard-ALA St & McGary. Day 3, I like Yodny Cajuste, later in Day 3, Paul Adams & swingman Michael Deiter has a lot of fans, as he's a young Mike Remmers

One think I love about this forum? All the pieces that fit the Giants you guys have identified. Still, from a selfish standpoint, if I had 6, Hockenson, no hesitation from me and Burns at 17

Lodge, Johnnie Dixon, Hardman at Ga are all fine Day 3 guys, but unless Eli starts wearing a Snow White costume in the huddle, I need to not draft a dwarf at WR. Lodge has size (6-2), but lacks loose hips, is a 1-cut runner. Now if you wanna talk RD 4 stud, Darius Slayton. Auburn's game planning was totally dysfunctional & look at him in 2017. This kid is the best you will find at stretchingthe field among Day 3 WRs

I love both! While White is going top 5/6 (hint hint), I think if someone moves him outside, you have a Derrick Brooks. I still think TB will go full-in on him, but Elway, despite Lock love, is trying to entice TB to trade as he wants White. Bush is Crash Gordon & I like his Rock 'Em/Sock 'Em style. Best MLB the Big Ten has had in recent years (Shazier was an OLB at OSU). Speaking of no longer regarded LBs I'd think someone can steal in a Day 3 trade - Darron Lee. The dude needs to be at WOLB, not inside. Unfortunately, if he does emerge, Eli might be chaed around twice per year as PHI is closing in on a trade for him

On this post, I answered on Wilson. The Brooklyn fave word comes out -forgetaboutit. How in the hell can Cowherd & DelRio make that comment. It will be 60 mil for 2 QBs with 20-plus mil on the bench? Too crazy just on the financial end. Wilson has NEVEr sung I Luv New York, has he.

Do you believe he has a sub par arm or is it just a matter of a tendency to prefer to feather in passes with increased arc (like Nick Foles prefers to do)?

Is that tendency problematic? Do you think the NFL team will coach him out of that?

What's the perception of the on field personality of Jones, Lock, Haskins?

What order do you think these three will be drafted (with KM being the 1st QB off the board)?

T.J. Hockinson = improved OL
edavisiii : 4/11/2019 2:00 pm : link
A]If it was up to me I'd go DL, Edge and LB at 6, 17, 37 and fix the Defense right. RTs can be found at 95 or day 3. However, if the Giants think TJ is the best player on the board I'd take him. Put him on the right and he'd help the RT. It would be like adding another OL with the way he blocks. Plus it would give Eli a tall target. TJ, EE, Shep and GT = a formidable passing attack.
How does Burns stack up against Sweat????
edavisiii : 4/11/2019 2:06 pm : link
There are a lot of edge guys in this draft. The consensus is Allen, Sweat then Burns. Is that how you see it? Also, how does a healthy Christian Miller Stack up against these three???? I know he is one of your favorite day 3 (where great drafts are made) edge guys in this draft.

Lock, Haskins, and Jones are gone. Any ideas who they might be interested in? I keep thinking Grier would be a good fit for Shurmur. Maybe even trade to move sooner in the third if they don't grab him at 37. Thoughts?

Woah. Miami moving up for a QB at 3 would be huge for the Giants. Oak probably goes Allen then because they have 5 DTs currently on the roster and need to fill Macks spot. Then Tampa is in LOVE with White. Would they take Q over White? If not Q is there for NYG at 6

They are eyeing AJ Brown. Giants stress polished route runners and probably want some size with tate and Shep. I hope they like Butler too.
