WITH TACKLES AND CENTERS APLENTY, NFL TEAMS FIND THE GUARD POSITION LACKING
Unless college tackles like Jonah Williams, Kaleb McGary and Cody Ford line up inside, teams are not finding too many pure guards in this draft class. The one that fits that description, Boston College's Chris Lindstrom, will probably hear his name called during Day Two action. Still, Day Three is where teams could strike gold - with a little patience. Indiana's Wes Martin seems to be a popular non-Combine guy teams are doing homework on, but the best guard in this draft could be another projected conversion - tough as nails Dalton Risner or Charlotte's rising star Nate Davis. Here is the Scout's Honor take on the offensive guards in this draft class.

NFL Draft Overview - Offensive Guards
Paul Crane and scout Dave-Te' Thomas look at this year's class of guards in the NFL Draft. Several players have played other positions as there are few "pure" guards in this draft. The top players, how teams are looking at them, those most interested, best fits and some small school sleepers all here.

Again-simple rule-no dogging other members and NO cursing. Let's keep this like Dragnet, just the facts, thanks
Arm length is an issue but what he can do with his footwork and bend, I see a starter in the league, preferably at OC.
Thoughts?

Working from home the week of the combine and had it on in the background, so I got to watch Froholdt's workout. Very clear that the coaches running the drills took a liking to him and were joking around with him the whole time.
Your thoughts on Nate Davis?
Still, I am glad the monitors started policing, because some interlopers have made it pretty testy on this forum recently. Fan frustration should not turn to insults of others & I've been reminding folks of that recently.
Oh, mine is a job no one should have - the sacrifices made, the hours invested catch up with you and it gets me closer & closer to decision day April 28th.
One reason I tout Sy is, James Brown gave him his old monniker. You guys got a gem there
Think 6'3" 320.
McGovern, McCoy & Jordan (likely)
Wes Martin, the Great Dame, Javon Patterson
Still, wish Giants give Brown a shot-he's already there & has a year under his belt
I have been on BBI for a very long time and I want to thank you for bringing so much great info to us here.
Your thoughts on Nate Davis?
Nate Davis:
2nd round prospect that I think is a starter within a year or two. Can physically handle the size and power of the NFL with his strength and ever-present leverage. Love how long he can play and when he keeps those hands inside, he is near-dominant. Gets a little sloppy with his footwork but I don't see it as a capability thing, just needs to be coached up. Has a couple red flags character wise.
I'm seeing front 7 - 1,2,3.
Then the rest of the draft a blend of more front 7 types with various offensive linesmen.
Maybe a FS or a TE in the mix at some point.
And that's all.
Thrn the 2020 draft being almost an all offense skills position emphasis with a few cornerbacks.
My questions are this:
1) Does this character trait actually matter on the field? Is it just a fan favorite thing or do coaching staff care about it at all?
2) Who is the Hernandez (nasty SOB) of this year's draft on OL?
Cheers Dave. Another excellent listen.
hmm now that's something I can enjoy looking forward to :)
