would be crazy if we got Kyler Murray. I mean all QBs are risky, but man talk about having something explosive and different. Never happen though as he is going to Arizona.
the Cards are going to pass on him and stick with Rosen and chose between Bosa and Williams. So this might be part of that. Murray could tumble then. The Raiders could take him but then they are stuck with Carr who won't fetch much if they take Murray and the Raiders badly need defensive players more. Gruden doesn't like young QBs and his system isn't really built for Murray. The Giants of course could trade up to the Raiders.

The stuff being circulated is garbage. I haven’t heard that anyway. This stuff about Haskins tumbling too. It’s lyin season.
and a 38 year old QB. It would be foolish not to do homework on all of the top QBs in the draft and he is very clearly one of them. But that does not mean they have any real intention of drafting him, let alone moving up to do so.

The Haskins stuff is actually real. It's been percolating for a few weeks. Good friend of mine works at one of the big newspapers in the NY/NJ area and he brought it to my attention this week.
I'm still shocked there isn't more hype around this guy (Murray) Â
I think the fact he signed a baseball contract and was allegedly 5'8" completely changed people's initial impressions of him. But he put the baseball talk to rest and it turns out he's just a 1/2 inch shorter than Russell Wilson. So let's pretend the baseball thing and his height/size were never an issue. Just look at this prospect objectively:
-He went 41-0 in high school (a very competitive high school football program) and was, statistically-speaking, perhaps the best high school football player IN HISTORY (look it up).
-In his first season starting, he won the Heismann and had just as exceptional of a season in the passing game as the very successful, NFL-proven, 2018 No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield (who came from the same team and offense), except he also tacked on 1000 yards rushing on top of that. He's essentially a combination of Baker Mayfield and Saquon Barkley in one prospect.
-He is way more than just a runner, he is a pass-first, run-second QB.
-And for anyone concerned about his durability? First of all, he's never been injured, despite playing in very competitive high school and college football divisions/conferences.
AND... The Texas Tech coach said on NFL Network the other night that when they played Okalahoma in the 9th week of the season, he looked it up and apparently Murray had only been HIT 7 times in games that season. That isn't just sacked, mind you, that is HIT, less than once per game, including on plays where he ran the ball. He masterfully avoids contact (unlike RGIII who many have unfairly compared him to).
I still don't see why this guy isn't considered a once-in-a-generation type of weapon at the QB position. My thought is some team is going to fall in love with him and trade the farm for his services (if the Cards don't take him themselves at #1).
Before he declared people were talking about him as a 2nd round pick. Then Arizona hire their coach and what he said was brought up and then he confirmed them and bam he is projected to go #1 overall.
Watching him at his pro day, even though everyone said he Â
Cardinals are taking him. If somehow they don't, they'll trade the pick, or the 49ers or Jets will, to someone who wants him. The Giants won't be that team.

I think the perceived slide is due to folks thinking he was a bit pudgy at the combine.
DG said in an interview that the GM has to get the head coach right and the quarterback right. If he thinks that Murray is the "right" QB and none of the other prospects are "right," he might very well go for an Eli-type trade to get him.
In my uninformed opinion Murray is the only QB in this class who looks like he could be truly great at the next level. But he could also be a huge bust. It would be the boldest gamble the team has made in a long, long time. It would also mean a profound change of philosophy about what a Giants QB looks like. The prototype-pocket-passer thing would be abandoned. Totally out of character for this franchise.
If it works, DG's a hero. If it doesn't, the franchise is set back 5 years and he'll be long gone in less than that.

But I think it could happen...
Next he's visiting the Redskins. This is all a huge charade, which is what the NFL wants, and it is working. People are actually speculating whether he will fall? Please. Dude is going first.
And if the guy is worth it at 6, he's worth trading up to get at 1. If he's a franchise guy - which is why you'd select him at 6 in the first place - the price to move up is worth it.
and take BPA there who ever that turns out to be. That remains the plan for at least the first 2/3 rds of the draft. Unless DG sees somebody he really feels is a worth going after and trades up.
no glory....but it's not happening. He's going to the Cardinals.
Yea, it sucks. I'd love to watch him on the Giants. But at least I won't have to lament over the Giants passing on him. If we had the 1 pick, we'd have taken Bosa or Quinnen and passed on him anyway.
What if Gettleman pulled an EA and mortgages the house Â
don’t take him I wouldn’t mind a trade-up for him. He’s the only QB in this draft worth that type of investment. Him and Barkley would be quite the combo.
..if I was making the choice it would be all about the interviews and the white board. If he aces those there's no reason not to seriously consider drafting him.
Before it was the KC model is was the NYG model! Â
if Zona passes on Murray, then the Giants will offer 6 and Sterling Sheppard to the 9ers for #2. Just wait. And of course, Lynch will want 2 first round picks...
RE: Watching him at his pro day, even though everyone said he Â
Had a great arm, I was surprised. The ball jumps out of his hand, he really does have a great arm, he was throwing frozen ropes.
EXACTLY. He has the best arm talent in this draft by far. Just a flick of the wrist and the ball flies out of his hand. The guy is the most natural thrower of the ball of all the QB prospects. I felt the same way about Mayfield last year, the difference is Mayfield didn't rush for 1000 yards in his Heisman season, Murray did. I can see the difference between his tape and the other 2019 QBs tape, the ball just flies differently out of his hand. I don't care how far Drew Lock can throw the ball, I know he has a great arm, but the way Murray whips it around and with such pinpoint perfect placement sometimes, he looks like Jeter throwing a dart off his back foot from deep in the five-hole (yes I purposely made the baseball reference). Just a natural athlete and ball-player all around.
The fact he's so short should actually alert people to how good he is. They don't let 5'10" guys play QB at ANY level of football, unless you're really fucking good. Like I said before, he was the the best high school football player in history (statistically-speaking and record-wise), that's the reason he got to keep playing QB despite not "looking the part"
But if there is any chance they could be persuaded to stick with Rosen and deal the pick, I would put in the full court press. Murray will be Mahomes good.

This. Been saying it for months now. Murray is going to be a super star in the nfl. He’s Vick, but better. And that’s lofty praise.
There are just some amazing skills inside that diminutive body that are very enticing.
But trading up to get him? NFW. So dumb, dumb, dumb...
I think its more due diligence. Better to be prepared for all situations.
Not really as, there’s nobody the Giants could trade with to get ahead of the Cardinals at 1.
The stuff being circulated is garbage. I haven’t heard that anyway. This stuff about Haskins tumbling too. It’s lyin season.
Even more notable, Q Williams' odds for first pick jumped overnight from +1800 to +500.
Bosa still second favorite at +300.
