I was listening to the Draft Show at DallasCowboys.com. The question put to the three panel members consisting of Dane Brugler, Bryan Broaddus and David Helman, who as Cowboy fans should they be hoping the Giants draft at the QB position? The resounding answer was Daniel Jones from all three.
I would agree with that. As I Giants fan, there's nothing more comforting than seeing Prescott on the field and Jason Garret on the sidelines for Dallas.
That was probably the most exciting play I ever saw from Dave Brown. I remember Deion really playing up the injury afterwards.

... and I wanted the Cowboys to draft Zeke Elliot. How's that opinion working out for me?
They talked about Zeke and how he wore down last year. They feel they need to draft another RB
Hmm, interesting in light of how the forgotten man thread is turning out.
You can read my post at 11:48 to get he gist. Interestingly many feel that there is/will be little wear-and-tear on Barkley

..they did draft Jones who went on to succeed Eli and then Jones scrambled with the ball on a busted play in Dallas and trucked one of their best DBs in the process just like another Giants ex-Duke QB did many moons ago...

Eli put his shoulder down and laid a hit on a defender a couple years ago to gain a couple more yards on a scramble. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. He NEVER does that! lol

Dane Brugler thinks the Cowboys need to get Bryce Love in the 4th rd to back up Zeke
Shame about his injury. He won the Doak in 2017, didn't he?
But Dallas has done well drafting guys who fell because of injury.

I think his ceiling is Prescott. Similar mobility, maybe a tad less. Neither has throwing skills that would ever point to being a prolific passer.
+1....I actually hope they wait till after Russell Wilson gets a new contract, can’t wait for Dallas to pay Dak top 5 QB money.

What's not mentioned is Prescott is 2nd in wins the last three years and his numbers compare favorably to QBs in the top 10. Prescott will get paid between 25 to 28 million a year. That is really the market value for a QB these days.
Draft Daniel Jones and have him put up similar numbers to Prescott. NY will be paying him between 30 and 35 million a year. That's what QBs get paid.
And the Giants hope Dallas pays Dak Prescott.

And you seem to be the first poster who invades threads about Jones... ;)

That's very interesting, because it looked like Barkley was on a pitch count last year and maybe it's been decided that's how he'll be managed so his career isn't shortened.
Maybe because the Giants are the only team silly enough to draft him in the first round.
That's b/c I firmly believe OL are a lot harder to evaluate and more valuable now thanks to the spread offense then ever before. He solidifies RT and could make Solder a cap casualty in a few years.
But the Giants aren't going to take him b/c that's just not their thought process right now. So failing that, I think the next best option is find the guy they feel comfortably sliding into the post Eli slot and I think that guy is Jones much more so than any option available.
My concern going forward is the team won't be terrible enough to drafting in the top 5ish range anytime soon. Gettlemen addressing the lines and Barkley will win them just enough games to keep them mediocre.
So I think this is the best chance to correct the mistake they made last year.
Allen/Sweat/Oliver offer much better value. Hell, I like Murphy so much I could make a good case for him at #6.
I always struggle with OL. Joey in VA has one of the better eyes for that position, so I tend to defer to him.
My favorite OL in this draft is Bradbury. Like that he was once a TE and eventually found his way to C. I think is the most underrated position in football. And if we can grab one like Bradbury, he could be a solid anchor for a long, long time.
Yet I get the sense that the grading system most people use has not been updated to reflect what is current in CFB.

I get it re: OL out of college. My current philosophy about OLs is that you have a better chance to grab a solid one in the second tier FA market, either those who have expiring contracts or those who get cut. Or if you are really smart make a trade to get an undervalued asset like the Pats did with Trent Brown (I realize anything like that, btw, is an outlier with that organization).
At least with that supply of players you are getting someone who has been in the league, and has been exposed to the concepts that apply to the NFL's style of play. Whereas, to your point, a fair amount of the college supply comes from the Spread and have longer learning curves. Or so it seems.
All this underscores the significance of finding a good OL coach. You get a good one, then you are ahead of the game in this NFL.
I'm right there with you regarding the OL coach.
