Would this be a good trade for Rosen

superspynyg : 4/15/2019 8:42 am
We give #17 overall and a 5 rd pick and a 4th next year.
We get Rosen and AZ 2nd rd pick (# 33)

We then draft Def at #6 and and with our 2nd rd picks we draft 2 def players or 1def and RT or WR.

AZ gets their first rd pick for Rosen plus other picks and we get qb of future and still keep Peppers and 3 picks in top 37 this year.
And yes

I like Rosen that much.
Honestly..
FatMan in Charlotte : 4/15/2019 8:46 am : link
why would we give up a 1st rounder in any scenario??

He's reportedly worth a #2 at best.

Overpaying for the sake of it seems like a bad move.
I think your trade is pro-Giants
Giantsfan79 : 4/15/2019 8:58 am : link
in effect you are trading down from 15 to 33 and getting Josh Rosen as compensation. After 2 rounds of the draft the Giants would have whoever they take at 6, 33, 37 and Josh Rosen. That's a pretty good outcome.
I would give a 4th for Rosen and maybe a conditional 2022 2nd
Bill L : 4/15/2019 9:03 am : link
dependent upon number of starts (or maybe percentage). I would be steadfastly committed to trading up high into the first round in 2020 to take one of the top 3 QB's. Rosen could then fight it out with Tanney for the backup spot. Or, if he can out compete , say, Fromm, then (Fromm (for example) would get lots of first team reps for when Rosen retired. Anything else, would be a dealbreaker for me.
who are you bidding against
Chip : 4/15/2019 9:03 am : link
nobody wants him. Washington seems to be not interested anymore. Offer them a 3rd and a 5th his value goes down as soon as they pick Murray
NO.
since1925 : 4/15/2019 9:06 am : link
Awful.
Maybe a third rounder
since1925 : 4/15/2019 9:07 am : link
and nothing else.
I think you are over-thinking it
Pep22 : 4/15/2019 9:09 am : link
If they like him (BIG IF), I'd offer something like Cleveland's 3rd rounder this year plus a max of a 3rd rounder next year (which one would think would be recouped by virtue of a compensatory pick for Collins):

Then the '19 draft could look like this:

1 ER Josh Allen (sneaking suspicion he slides a bit)
1a LB Devin Bush
2 DE Zach Allen
3 QB Josh Rosen
4 OL Michael Dieter
4a CB Iman Marshall
5 CB Corey Ballentine
5a OL Alex Bars
5b WR Lil Jordan Humphey
6 RB LJ Scott
7 P Tyler Newsome
5th rounder

Day 2
I would do that trade
Rjanyg : 4/15/2019 9:11 am : link
Sounds possible as far as value too. Nice idea.
I'd
AcidTest : 4/15/2019 9:13 am : link
probably do that trade, but there is no way the Giants would. As has been discussed, the Giants are interested in Rosen, but will likely be outbid by someone else. That's just the way it goes sometimes. We need to focus on getting a QB elsewhere. My hope is that's next year.
According to more than just the Asshats
Beer Man : 4/15/2019 9:44 am : link
The Giants are not in love with Rosen. Who knows, maybe a smoke screen, maybe not. The next few weeks should be very interesting, and we may even get to see a few BBI heads explode like year when the team didn't grab Darnold.
I don’t think Rosen is worth a 17 pick at this point in time
Ivan15 : 4/15/2019 11:26 am : link
I like the idea of the Giants giving another pick this year and one next year. I really like getting a pick back but maybe a third round pick. Maybe swap third round picks.
Cardinals don’t need more picks and the Giants extra picks are too low to have much value.
All that said, I would have been happy to get Rosen last year st 17 and he didn’t do anything to devalue himself except play down to the level of the rest of the team.
Do Cards have the first pick in Round 4?
Ivan15 : 4/15/2019 11:33 am : link
Trade Giants 2nd and 3rd for Rosen and Cards 4th. Giants throw in any other 3rd day picks they like, although Cards don’t need more draft picks this year.
I doubt the Cards would
Gman11 : 4/15/2019 11:49 am : link
accept a conditional pick based on starts with Eli still on the Giants. We all know Eli is going to be the starter unless they go down the toilet again or he gets injured. Why would the Cards agree to a conditional pick when they know Rosen going to be the starter in his first year on the team?
I should proof read before sending
Gman11 : 4/15/2019 11:51 am : link
...when Rosen ISN'T going to be the starter
Before I would think about trading for Rosen I would have to know
SterlingArcher : 4/15/2019 11:55 am : link
why AZ is dumping their 1st RD pick after only 1 year.
they can have 95 for Rosen.
Ron Johnson : 4/15/2019 12:08 pm : link
final offer
No one is trading a first round for a player
90.Cal : 4/15/2019 12:09 pm : link
that NEEDS to be traded.
There is no trade that is a good trade for Rosen.

about Josh Rosen to Giants.

Honestly, I can't wait for this to be over. I'd almost rather that bum get traded to the Giants so BBI can get the fuck over it already. Who cares if we suck another 3 years straight at this point? At least I'll have the schadenfreude.
Rosen or Wilson just offer the 2020 Rd #1 pick
idiotsavant : 4/15/2019 3:24 pm : link
This year is too rich in front 7 to use this years picks.
I really like Rosen, and think he's better than any QB in this draft
PatersonPlank : 4/15/2019 4:11 pm : link
Hell, he was arguably the top QB in last years draft (at least he was considered by some analysts to be the top QB last year). I'd absolutely give the #37 pick and something else. I may even give the #17, if we get around that pick and it looks like we'll take a QB (like Jones) then why not? We're getting a QB with that pick anyway, and he's better than anyone we will get.

Because they are a mismanaged front office who hired and fired their head coach after only one season is the reason.
Why
Giants_Rock : 4/16/2019 6:46 am : link
Why are people so down on him. He didnt have a good first year but neither did Goff or Eli. Eli y/g-115, passer rating-54. Rosen y/g-163, passer rating-67.

And Eli took over a 5-4 team, Rosen got launched into a dumpster fire in which they fired the offensive coordinator mid-year and replaced him with the QB coach who had no coordinating experience.
Why does everyone have this narrative that Rosen was so bad?
PatersonPlank : 4/16/2019 11:51 am : link
Compared to the other drafted QB's, Mayfield aside, he was pretty much the same. This is impressive considering his situation was definitely the worst, AZ was the worst team in football and the OL was horrible.

Cmp Att % PPG Yards YPP TD INT QB Rating
Sam Darnold 239 414 57.7 31.8 2,865 6.9 17 15 77.6
