Good

He was one of the better kick returners and the league is a serviceable #4 WR with good physical tools.
Without confirmation from Shurmur,

I suspect that Coleman was the lone player that didn't show up this morning for OTAs. He wasn't under contract until he signed the tender.
Good news - looked like a dud in every other stop

then turned into a nice depth guy for us down the stretch.

Hard to say what share of the credit should be assigned to Shurmur, Tyke Tolbert, and Coleman himself...but Iíve gotten the feeling from the better than expected play from all our depth WRs last year that Tolbert was doing a really good job with them.

Additionally, and at the moment he is our only deep treat... Expect that to change in Rd's 3+

If his issues are more "mental" and maybe "lack of confidence" based, well, if we get through to him now perhaps he is the deep threat #2 WR we so desperately need?

Long shot, but the guy is fast as heck.
LOL this site is

great. . Every time we sign anyone, someone shoots him out of the sky immediately. Good stuff. No passes here. Not a criticism. Enjoy the action.
I still say, with some coaching,
colin : 4/15/2019 11:49 pm : link
His upside is Mario Manningham.
He doesn't have good hands

Not something you can coach.
Anyone on this team...
M.S. : 4/16/2019 5:50 am : link

...and I mean ANYONE who makes the safeties think twice before sneaking up to the LOS for Saquon Barkley is an important player for us.

Cory Coleman IS that player!
When he has the ball in his hand

It is clear he is an elusive 1st round talent. The challenge will be if he can be in sink with the an and be reliable catching. I think he could surprise.

Cory Coleman IS that player!

This can be his role.

With his speed his upside is Ted Ginn. Goes without saying he has to work on his hands though.

Just spit my coffee out laughing. Thanks.
Obviously would love to see him develop into a keeper at WR,
Brown Recluse : 4/16/2019 11:01 am : link
but I have a difficult time envisioning it with him. Most likely he'll carve out a nice career as a special teamer (Ted Ginn, Devin Thomas, etc). Here's hoping I'm wrong.

Would love to see Coleman reach that level as a great #3 that can be a 2 for stretches. So many game changing catches...

Agreed. Good KR, dropped several simple passes, 3rd down chain movers missed too.
its not bad hands its....
bluetothegrave : 4/16/2019 2:36 pm : link
Small hands. That was the big knock on him out of college. That being said he can still probably use those tiny mittens a bit better. Agreed with the rest of this thread. He can def take the top off a defense and if he can just catch a few of them...it will help us immeasurably and for cheap.

He did look decent for us and I am happy we re-signed him. Young, fast as lightning and elusive. Lets go Blue.
Amani Toomer looked like a dud too ....
Manny in CA : 4/16/2019 3:00 pm : link

At first, then with a lot of hard work turned in a valuable player for the Giants.

I ve seen athletes improve their concentration, understanding of a system, and confidence. That can lead to improvement even with limited physical attributes.
