10 mil signing bonus and 2020 salary & 2021 Salary guaranteed. So 2mil per year signing bonus spread over the 5 year length of contract becomes the only guaranteed money for the last two years, so 2022 he could be cut with 4 mil dead money against a 10.5 mil cap figure and 2023 he can be cut for 2 mil dead money against a 11.5 mil signing bonus.
I'm one of the few who thinks Tate has a ton left in the tank. Find me guys at reasonable prices that can make the tough catch and move the chains. We have our playmaker for the next ten years sitting in the backfield.
so it's basically 3 years / 20m with 2 option years that avg. 11m
so much room next year I would have liked to see a high salary next year and lower in years 3-5.
It is better to have higher salaries at the end of contracts. This way you need to cut the guy if he blows up his leg you didn't pay him that money already, in a rolling salary cap this is an important distinction.
$10.7M guaranteed at signing (signing bonus + 2019 salary)
2020 salary fully guarantees in March 2020
$4.025M of 2021 salary fully guarantees in March 2021
