The bottom of the Yankees order is horrendous.
Fuck that shit though....Win a damn game.
Hopefully that's been resolved.
Yanks have to call Gio up by Saturday or else lose him for nothing. He's not in the Yankees top 7 starters, even with Sevy out, but he's probably Mets 5th best guy. Mets have no use for Frazier, but even if he's not great, he's probably better than the last guy or two on the Yankees bench.
Any chance this minor trade proposal could help both teams?
It's probably more likely than not that Andujar does need surgery and won't be able to return, but until then, they probably won't go outside the org for infield help.
Last thing we need here is another guy who doesn't get on base or put the ball in play.
Thairo had a really strong spring and he's 10 years younger. And not hurt right now.
"Most of these guys never had a prime"
We're an injury or two away from Mitchel Friedman in the lineup...
Paxton throwing hard tonight. A few 98mph heaters in there.
Yes my screen was green and pixelated a bit at the intro.
He's also just due to cool off... he won't hit .450 all year. So, it might be that a bit of a correction is coinciding with the move up in the order.
He's batted leadoff a decent amount of times in his career so it's not totally new - but his OBP batting there is just a tick over 30% - which obviously isn't good.
In his career to date, the 2 hole and 7 hole seem to have been the best spots for him.
Yes my screen was green and pixelated a bit at the intro.
Yeah it's working fine now.
Lol wow.. really?
Getting pretty close to just being totally done with this guy.

Yeah just turned on the game. Corralling screaming kids. Not my brightest moment.
Great signing so far, though. He's been our most consistent hitter by a mile.
The guy really has been huge so far and just the kind of bat we needed in the lineup.
Gotta give Cashman his due with this signing. At first I thought why sign him but not once the season started. I know it's early but it's clear how good he is and what he brings to the game.
Look at the rest of the lineup after him.
They have no one else?? Gets pretty thin after Torres.

The positional versatility and glove have been invaluable, too.
Before the season started, I actually wondered how Boone would get him in the lineup ~5x a week since it would have taken a mix of Torres @ SS, Stanton in LF, Andujar DH'ing, Bird out of the lineup + Voit DH'ing, etc... to get him 3-4 games @ 2B, and then a game or 2 @ 3B and maybe a game @ 1st.
Now here we are, wishing we had a couple more DJ's to fill injured player spots with. Go figure...

Exactly right. The only possible change to the top of the order I'd even consider is getting Frazier in the two hole and sliding the rest down but I'm not thrilled with moving Judge from where he's used to being.
Aside from that there's not really any other options right now. Maybe if Gardy gets hot they can get him back at lead off and have some maneuverability but I'm not counting on that and I think Boone's (Cashman's) hands are tied.
What a difference a year makes. The Sox would've put up a a three spot at least last year in that spot vs the Yanks with those guys coming up.
Very nice personality up front..
Actually he’s pitching right to his season ERA so far tonight!
And it’s delicious.
Yeah I'm not sure who goofed there but he should've been sent.
Sale is actually getting hammered on his FB, the slider/change up are still good.
That's a hell of a throw by Urshela. That's Betts running, too.
Very impressive arm.
He's been fucking tremendous tonight.
Beltran caught him tipping his off speed stuff last start... I'm not sure if that's the entire difference, but it probably helped for him to have been made aware of - and correct it.
He'll get exposed if he keeps playing regularly, but he's provided some really solid defense and has come up with a few hits too.
He's done a nice job to fill in.

Couldn't agree more. He's been really solid.
No one expects him to win games for them while filling in, just don't hurt the team and lose them. His D has been outstanding and is something they need while short handed. He's not giving anything away on D, in fact it's the opposite.
Anything we get from him on O is a bonus for me as long he keeps playing great D at 3rd.
Lol he flew around the bases.... should have taken his time and made sure he remembers it!

Must have felt like he was floating around the bases

You really think he'll forget. O'Neill just said he remembered the pitch was a curve ball.
They said he was throwing harder than the recent scouting reports the Yanks got on his fastball. He did hit mid 90's with it tonight.

Nah...but I think if I hit my first HR in Yankee Stadium against the Red Sox, I'd have taken a little more time to soak it all in, lol. He was running like he was going for a triple!
This game flew along.
OK Maybe beating Dallas :)
Paxton comes up huge. This kid Harvey as some stuff.
Let's get a Happer bounceback tomorrow night and sweep this 2 game set.
Let's build on it with another tomorrow.
The World Series hangover is real.
The World Series hangover is real.
They said on ESPN May 12. They were 26-12
Paired with an earlier start, and this thing was wrapped up by about 9.
I'll gladly sign up for this any night.
Especially when it includes kicking the shit out of Boston.
Still just counts as one April win, but not bad, not bad at all.

A true bitch slap...taking out Sale was great. All of a sudden his FB velo was up to 97/98. Interesting. The reports of his demise were pre-mature.
LOL

See, trash a player and he improves his game. Only Bird failed. Perhaps he wasn't trashed enough.
Happ's turn tomorrow?

It's the only way!
I hope they stick w DJLM in the leadoff spot even against a righty.
I really can't wait to get Hicks back in this lineup. Overnight they'll be better disciplined, have more power, more speed, smarter baserunning. Hopefully only another 2 weeks or so.
He sucks......
Keep it going.

Agreed. Pumped to get Hicks back.
All of the reports on him lately are good - he says he feels "100%" - they just have to get him up to game speed and he's ready to rock.
I think we'll see Hicksie before the end of April. Fingers crossed on no setbacks or any more BS.
Trash so far this year. With a capital "T"
Geez, did you watch him last season, just off to a bad start. Hopefully he gives them a good effort tonight.
They can use it from him, needs to get going.
I've already spent way, way too much time thinking about the most expedient way for the Yankees to make sure next season that his third year option doesn't vest.
I've landed on using an opener in every one of his 'starts'. The vesting condition is 165 IP in 2020 or 27 starts. Using an opener should take care of the latter. The innings thing will take care of itself because he has old balls and isn't very good.
(I think this is strong enough, and from the heart enough, that it will suffice for The Cooler voodoo)

Well I guess you were being facetious, but on here,
you are never quite sure...
