Giants “big” board- what are the rows?

Dave on the UWS : 4/16/2019 6:14 pm
As we have heard over the years, the Giants set up their board in rows and try to stick with it to make their picks (except when they don’t (see Flowers and Apple). What do you think their rows for the First rd would look like. Here’s my thought for #6.
Tier 1: Murray, Bosa , Q. Williams, Allen and MAYBE White and/or Sweat.
Tier 2: Sweat, White, Gary, Bush, Haskins
Tier 3: J. Williams, Wilkins ,Jones, Burns,
I’m sure I’m missing someone but you get the idea. How they set up the rows dictates what direction they go in.

Are the order

Of names in a row significant, serious question.

My understanding is rows dileneate a value range. Order within the row shows highest to lowest. Usually higher need is sorted first within the row.

I don’t think so (I just listed them in the approximate order we keep hearing them). JTGiants, JonC or maybe Eric can give you a better answer though than I can. They might though as I think about it based on fit in their schemes.
My Top 19 Prospects Excluding QB, RB, WR and DB
HopePhil and Optimistic : 4/16/2019 7:07 pm : link
Assuming no trades up or down and they wait on QB till next year:

13 Defensive Front Seven:
Tier 1: Bosa, Q Williams, Allen
Tier 2: Sweat, Oliver, White, Bush
Tier 3: Gary, Burns, Ferrell, Wilkins, Lawrence, Tillery

5 OL and 1 TE are probably Tier 2 or 3:
Taylor, J.Williams, Dillard, Ford, Bradbury and Hockinson

I have my preferences but would be happy with any of the Tier 1&2 defensive guys at 6 and then a Tier 3 guy at 17.

As much as I'd also be ok, but less happy, with a DB or WR at 17 I'd prefer they wait to see who slips to round 2. How strongly they like this 4th tier could impact their willingness to move down in Rd 1 from 17 or up from 37. They should come away with at least 2 studs in round one and a real good BPA with the next pick.

Due to displacement, and other teams plans and points of emphasis, you might even get a tier two front 7 at 17.

I would replace Jones with Lock, as it has been said here and local media that he is their top qb.

Rows were a Jerry Reese thing. Invented to make the process seem more complicated than it is.

We're strictly vertical now, with players weighted slightly based on need, and rankings adjusted, particularly in the first few rounds, based on previous picks. This is the way that every rational team does it.
Which makes sense
idiotsavant : 4/16/2019 7:43 pm : link
I would only caution. To not adjust too quickly, to be mindful, there are 5 or more types of DL, many types of LB, many positions on OL ... caution to not say "oh, we just drafted an X"...when opportunities meet needs to have great value at "x type b".
So where are the 'arguments'

if strictly vertical?

If they pick Sweat with White still available, I will be convinced they don't know what they are doing.

I'd be shocked if Greedy is that high. He has significantly hurt his stock. I don't expect they have a first round grade on him.

The Giants are often wrong in evaluating players,
Marty in Albany : 4/17/2019 9:36 am : link
but BBIers (and you know who you are) are seldom wrong. Thus, it is unlikely that we can predict what those dick-heads in the Giants' war room are gonna do.
