Didn't see it posted below and will delete if German.

Mets' rally quashed in the first by a DP and the Phillies lead of with men on 2nd and 3rd with no outs.

Not a great start, but ... go Mets!

Just like Jon Niese, if there is ever an error behind him, that’s it. He can’t get it out of his head. He implodes, every damn time.
Holy shit

During the Lagares at-bat, Keith pointed out a guy in a yellow shirt sitting behind home plate who is on the phone...so SNY puts him on screen, and right after Gary says, "he's having a grand 'ole time," the guy shoots the bird right to the camera. LOL, only in Philly.

He likes his hot dogs. Ketchup and mustard.

New York sports icon Keith Hernandez puts ketchup on a hot dog.

SMH, cat people.

Or it’s bc these 3 “aces” have been overhyped and should have been replaced 3 years ago.

what they are calling a 'stiff' neck. I'm guessing its not shoulder related then, which is probably a good thing, maybe a day or two off and he should be ok

glad they won last night. At least Callaway won't need to worry about when to use Diaz.
I guess there are games like this ...

The Phillies were who we thought they were

that's why they took the damn field. If you want to crown them, the crown their ass, but we let them off the hook.
Mets pitching leads MLB

in strikeouts, which is good, and indicates we're bound for some regression, there has been a lot of soft contact at times, especially against wheeler and syndergaard--and wayyy too many walks; tied for 6th most walks in the league; tied for 8th most home runs allowed; also

We have faced some really good hitting teams in atlanta, philadelphia, minnesota, and washington all are top 13 offenses.

We will have to figure out those teams though, as we play them quite often.

are also worst in MLB on BABIP; 3rd worst in LOB%, and have an XFIP that is more than a run better than our ERA; we also have the 4th worst % in Z-Contact (contact on balls outside the strikezone); we've thrown the 3rd most pitches in MLB (indicating a lot of deep counts);

all this while our LD% is 11th best in baseball.

All this seems to indicate that we should be in line for a very good regression.

However, our offense should have some regression too; oddly our BABIP is also best in baseball, at the exact same rate, .344; with that said our Home Run rate is 16th in baseball, and our line drive rate is 1st in baseball; our Z contact as hitters have also been bad.

So overall, our pitching should improve significantly if the numbers indicate as much; our offense should regress a tad, but we're getting back more depth with Lowrie and Frazier coming back. Would be great if we had a better backup C than d'arnaud, but we are going to have a numbers crunch
Why is there this incessant need to bash TDA?
ZGiants98 : 4/17/2019 11:44 am : link
He's a backup catcher going to get one start a week. What the hell is wrong with him? Just rip off his career lines and he's easily better than most backup catchers in baseball (offensively and defensively) and with TDA because of all his injuries there still might be a little upside there. But even if not....

What's the problem? We don't like him because he's injury prone?

Don't like his stupid face?
