Not trying to be a contrarian hipster about it either. I've never watched a second of it and never will. I get what it's about and appreciate that a lot of people like it but it just doesn't interest me whatsoever
The only show I can't put it in front of is The Wire. Other great shows I have liked include The Shield, Sopranos, Dexter, Homeland, Boardwalk Empire, Ray Donovan, Billions, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul.
That is a good list right there. Although I haven't seen Ray Donovan or Boardwalk Empire.
How are you Am? Happy to see you posting more frequently at least recently. Maybe I am just seeing you more because its close to the draft.
I am usually busy, but the BBI mock draft usually sucks me back in as I love the draft. Hahaha... hope you have been well brother.
Nothing is wrong. But "requesting" them? Seems odd. I've never ordered cereal in a restaurant. And I could only imagine how well it would go over if I "requested" bananas to be cut on top of my cereal. I suspect that I would have the cereal served to me over my head by my girlfriend.
To judge something without watching is pretty short sighted and doesn't actually make you cool.
But its a real time saver
Again if you are the I just think it is for me or I don't want to put a lot of time into a TV then I am not talking about you. I am only talking about the I haven't watch it and I never will defiant type because they think they are cool to be that way. To me if you haven't watched it you are missing out but so what. You could watch it and not like it. Things usually aren't this big unless it is really good though and even then some people won't like it. The acting is good, the story is good, but you don't have to watch it. It just doesn't make you cool to be like I don't watch it.
But I do and I am. In fact my coolness factor has just gone up 36% since I posted this thread.
That's the beauty of me.

I think the fact you have noble in your name, but you don't watch a show with nobles removes about 37% so you are at a net negative 1%. Sorry bro.

Oh maaan....
:-(
I was 4 seasons behind and the whole world was talking about it Â
so I started. I am not a fan of fantasy dragon witches blah blah blah and the first season, there's no magic, no fantasy, just a bunch of murderous treachery and naked people and debauchery until the very last episode when she sleeps through the fire and some dragons hatch and I was like WTF?
But at that point it was too late. Count me as someone who definitely watches but almost never knows what is going on. And you can't argue one thing, it is a beautiful looking show. The scenery and the spectacle make it worth watching.
Im not in to Sci Fi or fantasy at all. Heck, took me 20 years to see Star Wars. But people at work kept telling me to watch Thrones. Kept going on and on about it. So I finally figured id give it a shot. Once I did, I liked it, and eventually loved it. The ability to binge watch really helped. Now....ive probably seen every episode at least 3 times, read the books, etc......
Lord of the Rings cant be too far behind:) But no Harry Potter EVER!
The show initially plays more like a medieval English political drama than a fantasy show (loosely based on the War of the Roses). I had no interest in watching since I wasn't into fantasy but the book lovers on BBI got me to check it out right from the beginning. I love historical fiction and it sucked me right in.
Magic/supernatural elements are really far in the background early on. For some perspective, the first scene and the last scene of the season are pretty much the only time anything supernatural is in the fold in season one.
By the time that stuff became central to the show I was already hooked. Read all the books between seasons 1 and 2 to boot.
that honestly watched at least a few seasons or so (no one episode doesnt count as it it is slow and dense and difficult to learn the characters at first) and Ill believe it's even possible for it to not be someone's "thang".
You wont.
The fanbases of even the most popular shows today are relatively small Â
Not So Fast, Tommy. Maybe the Night King will be busy with his javelin Olympics training this year and tells Ned 'Yo, you got this - ride my Dragon at Winterfell' -- which is what terrifies Arya in the season preview.
I didnt watch it until right before season 7.... Â
binged it the couple months before. Everyone always said i would like it, but i just hadnt watched it. That said its a great show, is it for everyone, of course not. Do i care if you dont watch it, no, do whatever you want. Is it better then 99% of TV, yes so its worth watching.
I also find it funny that people are like id watch it, but i dont have time for that or im not into binging. The show has been on like a 2 year break, You could have watched like an episode every week and a half and finished in plenty of time.
Fascinated, though, more by the amount of people posting here and FB (two examples) about how they are among the rare few who haven't watched, or "don't get it."
Lots of people have never seen Breaking Bad, Dexter or Ozark (three I have really enjoyed). Big whoop. lol
but I would be interested in watching it eventually. I don't have much time to watch TV in general, so I tend to watch movies more often than series. I probably only average 2 to 3 hours of TV per week.
But decided to give it a shot and its an amazing series. I think thats why people are so adamant about others watching, I know so many other people who were like me and thought they would never get into it and ended up getting hooked
last weekend, just as a curiosity, not exactly my thing.
Someone mentioned genre above, that would be the word for me, not my genre.
I can see how the younger crowd gets into it though.
scare people from watching something? Doesn't that means its likely pretty good? Never thought to my self "hey a ton of people like X, it probably sucks".
Not liking it after trying it is fine, but hearing its good and deciding you aren't interested seems odd to me.

This is so weird to me. Like I ended up watching Lost right after it was over because I had access to it and while I didn't think it was going to be something I was into I loved it. Breaking Bad was another one, but I stopped after the third or so season just wasn't into it. Anytime something becomes a cultural juggernaut I make an effort to see it so at least I can have an opinion on it.
Early after swallowing the book, such as it is. The sort of gratuitous sex in the HBO version was as much as distraction as titillating. Another secret of mine, acquired recently while meeting a small group of women at a club bar: I never watched The Office.

I don't think you'll find any takers for that deal.

Well. I watched it, didn't care for it.
So what do you recommend me doing? Say it is my thing and keep watching something I don't care to watch?
You admittedly watched less than one episode. I wouldn’t have cared for it either if I stopped at that point too
THank you thank you... How can you miss this time of year... It is like Christmas

IMO, it lives up to the hype.
Me as well, never have seen an episode. Not anti-GOT, just was too gory/dark/sexism for my GF. I only watch sports or syfi alone.

It's not really sexist.

I fall asleep every time. Not sure why - it just doesn't hold my interest.
Part of it is the genre - loved Lord of the Rings, but generally hate that wizard goblin magic dragon bullshit. That and vampires. Fucking S N O R E.
This Shame gif is perfect for this thread... hahaha well played.
LOL!
Hahaha Jnoble that is a nice mustache brother!
