We drafted the best player in the NFL at his position last year. I would not trade Barkley for anyone in the NFL right now at RB. Is there any player in this year’s draft that has the potential to be the best player in the NFL at his position or top 3 right away? These are the players I think can be that, one of them has a higher potential to bust.
Q Williams
DK Metcalf
TJ Hockenson
Devin Bush
I believe there are many great players in this draft. I believe if these players go to the right situation, they could be All Pros year one.
Metcalf could bust, he could also be a Randy Moss/Julio Jones. Being able to take the top off a defense like he can changes an offense. He would be an amazing compliment to Tate/Shepard. Harry is my favorite receiver, but Metcalf could be game changing right away.
Q Williams has elite quickness and moves. When you get immediate pressure from the DL it blows up plays and can close games. I think Williams is the safest pick in the draft.
TJ Hockenson is a true two way tight end. These are proven difference makers. Absolutely critical to have them for running 12 personnel (Most successful grouping in today’s NFL)
Bush is a 3 down LB that plays big and covers. Sideline to sideline and he can thump. Love Bush.
I am not suggesting these are the players we should draft but I think they have very high ceilings. Who are the players you think can become one of the best at their position right away?
Pass on Metcalf
Q Williams will not be better than Donald
DK Metcalf will not be better than OBJ
TJ Hockenson will not be better than Kelce
Devin Bush will not be better than Von Miller
This thread is a good example of how we tend to overrate college talent, but also how extremely unique of a prospect Barkley was and why it was such a good choice to pick him last year. You almost never get a chance to draft a guy who as a rookie will be the best player in the NFL at his position. When you do, you pick him.
