'Josh Rosen finally addresses uncertain status in Arizona'

sphinx : 4/18/2019 1:54 pm
Embattled second-year Arizona Cardinals quarterback Josh Rosen has addressed his uncertain status with the team in an exclusive interview with SI.TV.

In the interview (which is trapped behind a paywall), Rosen said, “I definitely understand the situation,” Rosen said. “I mean, it’s annoying but, like, it is what it is. Football’s a business, and I definitely the higher-ups and their decisions. . . . Whatever decisions are made, it’s my duty to prove them right if they keep me, and prove them wrong if they ship me off.”

It is very telling that the hype video recently released by the Cardinals showed image of numerous players like Larry Fitzgerald, David Johnson, and Patrick Peterson but not a single image of the incumbent quarterback.

Goodbye ...
did the giants have a hype video released recently?

Seems strange at this point in the season.
That's a tough spot and question to respond to...

I thought his answer was very professional and showed maturity.
It also showed many QB’s that play for other teams.

That’s the only way Rosen will make that film. I’d demand a trade. One thing I have to give him... he has conducted himself as a professional should.

I don't know it's a kick in the junk. He knows the situation they are in, and if there is a chance he won't be there for the season, why include him in a marketing video?

It would be more awkward if they had included him and then traded him vs made it without him and then kept him.

just my 2c.
I want him.

Best value there is -- letting us draft some hog mollies -- and like Brady he'd play with a chip on his shoulder for 10-15 years.
I have a feeling...

this Rosen situation could turn out like the Favre situation in Atlanta.

Glanville gave up on Favre after one year. Sent him to the Packers. And in hindsight Glanville looks like one of the biggest morons ever...

Anyone care to add the most important word in that statement?

True. He isn't going to lose a dime no matter where he goes. His future is in his hands.

Yup, much more mature statement vs some of the stuff from last year. I’m sure getting pummeled all year and playing for a shitty organization like Arizona was a very humbling experience.
I'd Take Rosen in a NY Minute

and a reasonable trade. Great value.Great opportunity to wind up with a quarterback many evaluators rate highly and with a year of experience.
The Favre..

circumstances were pretty murky though.

He suffered a very bad hip injury. I've talked to people close to that situation that said there was a true divide on the severity of it. The Bo Jackson hip injury was still fresh and it was believed Favre may have as bleak of an outcome.

There also were character and substance abuse issues. And to be honest, those ended up cropping up throughout his career, but luckily it wasn't until the end.

The Falcons ended up being right about the issues, but it was too late in his career to justify the trade.
