I really like Jones. I think he has everything you want from a Franchise QB. I think he was THE reason Duke won games. And I think he is being wildly underrated (by football casuals anyway.)
By the way -- the tapes out on Jones show a guy that was performing under adversity pretty much all the time and succeeding in the face of it. His offensive line reminded me of the Giants offensive line - the bad version of the past three years - and he is much more mobile and athletic than Eli. He can also be very accurate on the move.
I'm hopeful for Daniel Jones becoming good, but it's hard to see him as being more than a capable, but not exceptional QB. He does everything pretty well, but nothing great, and has some weaknesses in his game. I admit I'm also a bit skeptical of former walk-ons (notwithstanding Baker Mayfield's success). It is possible that those types of guys are just late bloomers or just work so hard that they overcome all of their underwhelming traits, but it also seems like there's likely to be a cap on how good they can ultimately be.
I don't feel comfortable with Haskins and Murray with only one year starting for each.
Lock has great upside, but with his physical talent, he'd be talked about as a #1 overall pick if he was able to put it all together. He's started for 3-4 seasons, but hasn't seemed to put it all together yet. That's kind of concerning.
the
above.
suffer through another shitty season and wait til next year.
Odd way to characterize Murray, if you think about it.
