This is interesting. Bob McGinn asked 13 scouts to rank the top QBs. Kyler Murray got 7 first-place votes, Dwayne Haskins 4, Drew Lock 2, Daniel Jones 0.

Daniel Jones was tied with Haskins at #2.
Darnold drew seven firsts compared to five for Rosen, one for Allen and one for Mayfield. In a separate poll that asked 14 scouts to name the best player in the draft regardless of position, Mayfield’s one vote was the only one that went to a quarterback.
“He dominates against everybody,” said the scout that went all in on Mayfield. “He makes everybody better. There’s no fatal flaw.”
Nonetheless, Mayfield fared no better than fourth in the point totals.
Darnold led with 59 points, and was followed by Rosen with 55, Allen with 43, Mayfield with 35, Louisville’s Lamar Jackson with nine, Oklahoma State’s Mason Rudolph with eight and Washington State’s Luke Falk with one.
Two of the 14 declined to answer which of the six leading players had the best chance to bust. The 12-vote results showed five bust votes for Allen, four for Jackson and three for Mayfield.
He's become nothing more than a click-bait troller.

I’m finding more and more sports media being nothing more than click-bait trolls. It’s like everyone has an agenda, just give me the info and I’ll think for myself.

This, I stopped watching ESPN over 10 years ago because nearly everyone has an agenda. It's more about creating a reaction than actually reported sports information. Raanan is just the next in line of troll journalists.

I get the feeling if we select Haskins, Raanan's next tweet will be to quote some scout on the negatives of Haskins.

Dan Duggan with The Athletic seems to have a vendetta going with Gettleman.
Absolute reasonable take, imv
When conference championships feature these 4 QBs:
Brady (6th rounder), Keenum, Foles, Bortles; 75% mediocre
It proves you don’t “need” the “franchise QB” to win when the supporting cast around __ is good.
You have Saquon Barkley, you have 3 top 40 pick in a class loaded with elite defensive talent ... build the rest of the roster appropriately instead of banking on 1 of these 2019 QBs as your franchise savior.

Gettleman saying QB for NY market team is a lot for someone to handle and you need someone that can process everything and handle it well. Perhaps Jones can do that, I’m not sure. But Haskins seems like a guy that would be able to.
Absolute reasonable take, imv
BB did you notice that? It seemed Gettleman was pretty adamant about it. Perhaps they like Jones because of his Eli type personality

Put it this way: The ability to handle NY media pressure cannot be underscored enough. At times, that mindset can be overrated, but not in the media capital.
Obviously, that is NOT enough; skillset is vital, but in NY, they go hand in hand, imv
Nothing?
Nothing?
Nothing, tra-la-la?

A poll of 14 personnel people reflected the lack of consensus. Each scout was asked to rank his best quarterbacks from 1 to 5, with a first-place vote worth 5 points, a second-place worth 4 and so forth.

Hire that Mayfield scout to help with our QB search.

Nothing about his tape or performance suggests he will ever be anything more than a backup QB in the NFL at best.

Interesting. Jones has thrown 764 passes and you haven't seen a single impressive one?

That seems to be where the bar is set. Personally, I want a guy you win because, but that’s just me. I feel like they saw Philly win with Foles and Vikings having success with Keemun and that’s more or less how they look at the position.

And you'd be 100 percent wrong because one of the few guys on this site who actually talks to NFL personnel people has said the exact opposite.
Well if he has half the heart and drive to be great as Davis Webb had then I think he's going to be okay... or not. Oh wait, sorry, I meant not.
In all seriousness though, for the most part in the football you're either good or you ain't good. That's why the hit rate is so much higher on 1st and 2nd round picks than later picks. Of course you have exceptions like Brady but those are few and far between. At the end of the day pre-draft evaluations are very important and often (certainly not always) correct.
The guy who won the senior bowl mvp was one of the worst players on the field? Brilliant comment there. I guess you know more than the nfl scouts because you weren’t impressed by a 3 minute YouTube video. I suggest you google the scouting reports on Aaron Rodgers in 2005.

Btw, as I mentioned somewhere yesterday, Charlie Weis, who knows a thing or two about QBs, rates Murray the best and Grier next..Just sayin’

Please don’t tell me the scouts missed on this guy or that guy. Blair Thomas - RB Penn State went second. So did Saquon. They’re different players, different years. The fact that Brady fell to 199 doesn’t mean we should wait to 199 to get a QB.
Was talking throughout senior bowl week not the game itself. He was the QB of the winning team
