Proof The Giants Are Drafting Daniel Jones

An Illuminati time traveler came back to 2019 to let us Giants fans know that Daniel Jones is being selected by the Giants.

This is the proof:

Coincidence? I think not. Destiny awaits you Daniel. - ( New Window )

None better than this right here

09/01/18 Missouri vs Tenn.-Martin W 51-14

Drew Lock,19-25 with 4 TD's against UT-Martin as Jerry blames it on Eli.

I think it's worth a few more spots on the draft board.

During my workout tonight I was listening to Sirius and their take on the QBs. For those who heard the program please feel free to add or correct anything I believe I heard:

Polian on Jones: Feels DJ has all the tools. His only concern is his body at 6’ 5” and 220

Brady Quinn: He’s the most pro ready QB coming out of this class

Pat Kirwan: Yes Jones had a 17-19 record, but he watched him live in several games and said he had no support, was getting killed but still makes all the throws

That’s all I got. Shower time.

What do these guys know? A 400-lb guy living in his mother's basement says Jones stinks.
The argument
that a qb only sucked in college bc his supporting cast sucked is such a stupid argument. You’re basically saying “maybe he’d be good if he had better player around him so let’s risk our future and waste a 1st rd pick on a hunch.” He was horrible in college. Horrible during senior bowl week. And average at best at the combine.

More nitpicky BS ... I saw something in another scouting report about his calves or some nonsense

He’ll sit behind Eli in an NFL weight lifting program and this will be a nonissue. He’s already becoming the media and half of BBI’s favorite whipping boy, so he sure looks on track to be Eli’s heir apparent on and off the field.
Fair enough. I'm not saying he is or isn't the guy
ChaChing : 11:33 pm : link
but that sounds like an NFL QB body to me

Like Kyler being a big Q at 5'9" but at 5'10" he's a top prospect. I feel like any teams that think this way are awful at scouting. He's a legit QB b/c of his talents & football IQ etc, or not. Of all things 1", especially at an extreme being so short, clearly cannot make THAT much difference. If 5'9" is such an issue, he should be off your list at that height. (In reality, I believe this to be a media creation, but still...)
That is, whatever his actual height

Peyton Manning combine measurements
allstarjim : 4/20/2019 12:11 am : link
6'5", 230 lbs.

So he's a little slighter than Peyton, with room to fill out his frame.

I think physically, he's the prototype. Maybe not the arm, but does he make all the throws? I'll wait to see Sy's QB analysis coming around Tuesday or Wednesday.

You do realize that game is meaningless, right? It's on par with a high school JV football game.

The practices are the showcase. The coaches and scouts run the practices and then leave Friday or the Saturday morning before the game. And by many accounts, Jones wasn't very consistent or impressive in those. I actually watched a lot of the coverage by NFLN and found Jones to be what he typically is - a milquetoast QB.
I would be fine with Jones
Giantimistic : 4/20/2019 1:21 am : link
However, isn’t what made Eli so great in college was that he had very little supporting cast and made everyone better. I know there is a difference between ole miss and duke level of no supporting cast but Eli had the “It” factor regardless of his supporting cast. I haven’t heard really if Jones has that special down 4, 2 min to go to win the game with a touchdown ability.

It makes no difference. Anyone who watched the game knows he didn't even play well in it. He could have been picked two or three times in it. I'm not treating that game as gospel, but he did not play well in the game.

If you watch him play, you know he can't spin it the way Haskins or Lock can. Now, Lock can't read Ds, so that's another story. But just watch the combine, and you can see the way Haskins throws the ball and the pop he generates. Jones just does not have that.

If the Giants believe this guy is the best QB in this class, they have no idea how to scout the position. I don't care if anyone values my opinion. Even more troubling may be the fact that the Giants do not care if anyone knows the information they should keep close to the vest. If JT's comments are really true - that they don't care about it - the front office should be fired in its entirety for incompetence.

And if the asshats are getting information this easily, it's probably spreading to people in the know as well. If the Giants really love Jones, someone is just going to leapfrog them for him if they feel the same way. I would not have a problem with that, because I do not like Jones. But the theory remains the same: the information should not be readily available to those outside the organization.

So he doesn't generate as many RPMs on the ball as Haskins? So what? The name of the game is accuracy, anticipation, and intelligence.
Here's the Wonderlic scores that were leaked out yesterday:

1. Ryan Finley 43
2. Gardner Minshew 42
3. Daniel Jones 37
4. Easton Stick 32
5. Clayton Thorson 32
6. Will Grier 30
7. Brett Rypien 28
8. Jarrett Stidham 27
9. Drew Lock 26
10. Tyree Jackson 25
11. Dwayne Haskins 25
12. Kyler Murray 20

These are the NFL players with the highest wonderlic scores in the NFL right now:
1) Ryan Fitzpatrick 48
2) Carson Wentz 40
3) Alex Smith 40
4) Eli Manning 39
5) Andrew Luck 37
6) Aaron Rodgers 35
7) Luke Kuechly 34
8) Kirk Cousins 33
9) Tom Brady 33

His intelligence is at an elite level. All that brain power to pick apart defenses. Dwayne Haskin's wonderlic score is mediocre. There's 3 Super bowl winners on that list (I won't include Carson Wentz).

I thought the whole NFL knows we are drafting Haskins? Wait no, its Allen. Wait no its Hockenson.

Come on man, we've been "mocked" to take about 5 different players in just the last week alone. Each day we have "leaks" about the different player the Giants like. This is complaining just to complain.

This is what I don't get. Yes, Eli elevated his team at Ole Miss. Duke won 8 games last year and made a Bowl. People talk like they went 0-12. They probably would've without DJ. And Josh - saying he sucked at Duke? You're exposing yourself as someone who shouldn't be taken seriously.

Wonderlic Scores

Wonderlic scores are very misleading. There is no correlation between a player's score and his NFL success. Wonderlic tests book smarts. It is not an IQ test.
