...CBS Sportsline (April 5th, 2019) compiled a ranking of draft needs by team / by position based on the input of 5 staff members**. The average team need score is in the range of 1 to 32. The higher the average score, the greater the team need.
Here, for example, are the Giants average scores:
QB 29.6
RB 4.4
WR/TE 25.2
OL 23.4
EDGE 31.0
INT DL 31.0
LB 29.0
DB 29.0
If you think our Draft needs are significant (and of course they are), then these figures will do nothing to dispel your assumption.
In fact, if you take the average team need across all eight positional breakouts, the Giants average score is 25.3. Only Miami has a higher overall average 27.8. The lowest? The New Orleans Saints at 8.9.
Below is a list of all 32 teams based on the average draft need across all eight positions:

Chicago 9.4

On the plus side, the Giants have accumulated a good deal of draft capital (and may even get more with a judicious trade or two). Naturally, it won't be enough to solve all of their problems, but it should be enough to address several of their most pressing needs without setting BPA aside completely. The operative word here is "should."
…(not to mention several other positions), but so too are the Jets and da Raiders -- two teams that pick ahead of us in Round One.
Also, the NFC East has the greatest need at DB, and we are definitely one of the NFC teams that will be in the hunt for DB somewhere in this draft. Will be interesting to see how will do relative to our direct competition.
Anal-itics. *grin*
