Just saw a blurb on NFL.com from my phone. Sorry can't link. Speculation they may trade up with the Jets. Knowing the Eagles it will probably cost them a 6th and 7th round pick.
They will find a way to fuck this up. Oliver, Allen, and either Quinnen Williams or Bosa will be there at 3. Watch them all become all pro’s while the Jets trade down and take another bust.
They are dead set on trading down, MIA/CIN have been rumored
They want to move down, still land a day 1 starter on defense, and get some picks. As of now they select 3rd and then tap out until round 3 ... sounds like Brians Burns and a big WR for Darnold is the priority
Given their desperation I don’t think it’ll take the traditional blockbuster package to move up (depending on how far they drop, obviously). This PHI tip is new, hopefully it picks up the bidding war.
If Philly is all in on Oliver, but fail to move up for him. Â
Careful Philly helped bait us into promoting McAdoo.
And yeah, knowing how Philly tends to get trades down, the Jets will move down from #3 to #25 and get back a 7th round pick, some 3rd string tight end, and "future considerations".
Sadly, I can see Oliver wearing that stupid helmet. He is exactly the. kind of Defensive lineman the Eagles draft and he will be killing the Giants for 10 years.
And we're sitting here less than a week from the Draft with the worst fucking roster in the NFL.
I’m sure the NYG roster is among the 5-10 worst in football. We aren’t the absolute worst though. Miami, Arizona, and the Raiders immediately come to mind as clearly worse.

I know it’s fun to hate on the giants and be negative about everything, but there are quite a few rosters worse than this team. This is an 8-8/9-7 team this year if they hit on their picks as well as last year.

No one at that spot to help their Joe Beningo anointed messiah Darnold. Hopefully they draft Metcalf at that so XD
RE: Giants need to get one more premium pick (rounds 1-3) than they have Â

This has a pretty good chance of happening by all accounts. Now if the team that trades up is for a QB that very likely drops Allen or Quinnen to us.....huge...

Ah yes because they are so talented and a success. As bad as Reese's drafts were the Jets were just as bad. Here are their last 10 years of 1st and 2nd round picks:
2009 5th overall Mark Sanchez bust
no second as they traded up for Sanchez
2010 1st CB Kyle Wilson bust
2nd round OL Vlad Ducasse bust
2011 1st round DL Muhammad Wilkerson - good player but Jets didn't attempt to resign him after rookie deal
No 2nd round pick again
2012 1st 16th overall Quinton Coples bust
2nd WR Stephen Hill bust
2013 CB Dee Milliner 9th overall bust
DT Sheldon Richardson 13th overall - good player but also left after rookie contract
2nd round QB Geno Smith bust
2015 1st Leonard Williams 6th overall - solid but disappointing
2nd WR Devin Smith bust
2016 LB Darron Lee 20th overall - disappointment and Jets are trying to give away
2nd QB Christian Hackenberg huge bust
2017 S Jamal Adams 6th overall - best pick for them on this pathetic list
2nd Marcus Maye - solid player and their only hit in the 2nd round in 10 years
2018 Sam Darnold
no 2nd traded for Darnold
There is a reason the Jets had over 100 million in cap room Â
They are one of the worst drafting team of the past 10 years which means they don't re-sign their draft picks which creates a ton of cap room. They are forced to spend big in free agency which will catch up to them if Darnold develops into a good QB and gets a massive 2nd contract. If they don't improve their drafting then they will waste Darnold's prime as the Colts nearly did with Luck and the Chargers with Rivers.
And they like Oliver themselves. But we also need to get back into the 2nd round to draft a center. Something is going to happen but not with Philly. For this to work it would have to involve draft picks + position players from the Eagles roster

Always have a great plan and juggle contracts well, been knocking on the door for years and finally broke though two seasons ago. Except for the Skip Kelly era .... but were smart enough to keep Howie in house.
To move down that far they would need at least a 2019 1st and 2nd plus a 2020 1st. I would also demand a 2020 2nd as well.

Also, anything making a headline between now and Thursday is likely BS released intentionally.
I was thinking the same thing.

You are correct if we played a 3-4 from the 80s but we don't. We havd also played a multiple front last year.

Don't we need massive DT's

Yep, I guess thats true. I like Tomlinson though, I'd rather we grab a DE

This will work with the draft deep in positions they need, and the distribution of talent between 15 and 50.

2 4th rounders and 3 5th rounders ... i fully expect a trade up to select between 37 and 95.
I see the Giants ending up with 2 1s, 2nd, 2 3s, 6, 2 7ths

I like this guy.
"Stupid helmet" indeed"
There is a better than average chance if he's still available he'll be our pick. Call him the leader in the clubhouse if you will.

If he hates the Eagles as much as I do, make him team captain/co-owner.

But to 15, 10 or 11? That's much more likely.

The Giants are among the most successful franchises in the NFL. The Jets are among the least successful.

Really? Love the optimism.
