General question for Sy

Jay in Toronto : 4/20/2019 10:51 am
I know generalizations are problematic, but what position(s) do you have the most confidence in giving an assessment rating and which the least?

Will delete if addressed elsewhere.

TIA
i've wanted to ask Sy
GiantNatty : 4/20/2019 11:00 am : link

- what position(s) do you enjoy scouting the most; and

- what position(s) do you think you're the best at scouting? (and "all" is a perfectly acceptable answer)
Thanks

Your second question is an interesting way to ask mine, in a way.
Well

I prefer and have the most success scouting LBs and the OL. Some of my more consistent misses are S and CB.

Well, if you are right on OL J. Williams, the Giants would be fools to pass on him if he were there at #6. Yes, he isn't as "big" as you'd like but he is young and can add size easily. My gut tells me if he were picked at #6 he starts at RT as a rookie. He may not be a dominant NFL run blocker year #1, but his technique is solid enough to make me believe he'll handle the pass protection duties very well.

But I'd also take LB D. White at #6 if things fall that way.

The only thing I don't want is a BUST at #6. It would hurt my soul to see another "Flowers" drafted...

How have you done with the QB position? Finally the draft is getting here.

I like J Williams but I respectfully disagre about him easily bulking more. Bama has pro style weight training and I think he is close to what he will be in the NFL. HEid probably one of the safest picks this draft but maybe some view him as having high floor more than the highest ceiling. Anyway, i have come to accept that NYG will not take him which is fine so long as they get a good OL somewhere this off-season. There might be more value in OC or later ranked players for example.
I am puzzled by this and Sy would like your take

of the notion that a prospect could use 'a year in the weight room' mostly recently re Wilkins.

I assume Clemson has the latest in technology and methods (I know Wisconsin best and they do).
