Injury or not Wilson was never going to overcome the fumbling problem he had since High School. He was already holding the ball correctly no Coughlin - Tiki fix this time.

As Parcells said the worse thing to have on your team is a back that fumbles.

David Wilson my first “remote thrower” . I wanted Alshon, badly.

Although Zeitler and Jenkins are on the roster now, so that’s cool I guess.

Reuben Randle over TY Hilton ... man that draft is nauseating to review. Seattle crushed that draft.

Weak. He was the only player who contributed to this team at all.

Because they needed a RB. They wanted Martin was he was gone. Worst reason to pick a player.

Kind of like just drafting a QB because you want one even if the one you want is gone.

Browns take Trent Richardson at #3, Mariucci says the kid could lead the league in rushing as a rookie. Two picks later, Jags take Justin Blackmon and Mayock immediately heralds how great of a pick it is. Just goes to show how uncertain the draft can be.

Might be the worst way of filling air time on all of network television. Even worse are the folks who decide it’s a good way of spending time on a Saturday and actually watch it.

I absolutely hated the Wilson, Apple, Flowers selections. Hated.
I’m sure the inevitable “oh of course you post this in hindsight” trolls will pile on for no reason, but it’s true.

Not saying i always get it right - I was psyched about Prince falling into our laps and he was meh. Hated Wilson, wanted Alshon. Hated Flowers, wanted Gurley (yes, injury and all). Hated Apple, wanted Tunsil.

I was wrong on Odell, hated the pick - although to be fair, I wanted Zack Martin. So kinda wrong ... kinda right. I liked William Joseph ... can’t get em all right.

* Fully acknowledge that it’s easier for me to take a risk with the pick since it doesn’t impact my lively hood whatsoever, but yes Gurley/Tunsil would’ve been my picks over Flowers/Apple. Flowers I just felt was a huge reach, but saw the potential. Apple was just mindblowingly stupid in my eyes. I don’t get it, still don’t - especially with Tunsil falling right into their laps (I know why he fell, I’ll leave the marijuana debate for another time)

Would've been happy with Cordy Glenn. I did have some hope for Brandon Mosley, though. Thought he was a steal in the 4th Round.

I think I spent the whole week before the draft arguing with a poster named Four Aces about why I'd never draft a RB in the 1st Round, and why I didn't think the Giants would.

Good thing he wasn't around last year (at least I don't think he was).

The 2012 - 2017 drafts are pathetic. Pugh, Richburg, Hankins, Kennard, Odell, Collins, Shepard ... 7 players in 6 drafts, 6 of them not on the roster.

I don't think he was ever going to be the RB. He looked like a real good special teams / 3rd down guy to me

He was the fastest RB I've ever seen in a Giants uniform. SB a close second but Wilson was ridiculous. He made the right choice to retire. You don't mess around with neck injuries.

Yep.

Where each poster list their choice of 1st round draft pick as they come. Then it opens the thread each year to see which poster has the best track record overall.

This would help determine if opinions are just that.

Barkley is much faster than Wilson. Saquon is 6-0-233 lbs, and he ran a 4.4-40 yard dash at the NFL Combine. Wilson is 5-10-206 lbs and he ran a 4.49-40 yard dash at the NFL Combine.

According to NFL's Next Gen Stats Barkley reached a top speed of 21.91 on his 78-yard TD run. The third fastest speed by a ball carrier this season. Dalvin Cook is the fastest player with a max speed of 22.07.Devin McCourty is 31 years old and he is the second fastest player in the NFL. His top speed is 22.05.

Many players run very fast 40-yard dash times at the NFL Combine and are not among the fastest players. John Ross is an egregious example.

There was nothing Wilson did better than Saquon. I hope this is the last time I see them mentioned in the same sentence.
