I have incontrovertible evidence that he, JonC, and Peppers all met with Pat Hanlon in Prague back in late February, where they conspired to "stir the pot" here prior to the draft, and lead us all down a carefully laid out garden path of misdirection and falsehoods.
"Definitive" posts about the Giants' preferences at QB and on defense. Mysterious allusions to trades, before and during the draft. Artfully worded threads about potential free agent signings. It all makes sense now.
Note: although Eric has been a huge beneficiary of their sinister machinations, I can't say for certain if he was aware of their plans...but I wouldn't put it past him.
I know, and not sure why, but for some reason it annoyed me. Rant over and im good now
Good. Often a good rant helps. I've been here many years and my observation is that there are not many, including me, that get by unscathed for very long. Of course its particularly galling when the one being scathed is a significant added value to the rest of us. As others have said, let it roll off your back.
going to spread disinformation I don't think this is the place they would go. Probably espn, the newspapers, popular twitter pundits, etc would be better
A lot of beat writers read this forum, as well as people within the organization. And family members of players and such have posted here before. Don't really see them post as much as in prior years.
Attacking jonc, and me over the past few days, it's ridiculous. Jonc is as good as they come. His track record, and mine, has been really good. This site is beyond pissing me off right now
You, and JonC are greatly appreciated
Please don’t let a bunch of keyboard toughguys and internet crybabies make you feel otherwise
Attacking jonc, and me over the past few days, it's ridiculous. Jonc is as good as they come. His track record, and mine, has been really good. This site is beyond pissing me off right now
A couple of days ago, in another thread, I wrote that people should stop pestering you and JonC (and any other asshats) with questions, and simply call Dave Gettleman directly. Of course I was being facetious, but the tone and tenor of that thread (and a dozen others like it) reminded me of an old SNL skit that ran during the first Gulf War, where a group of reporters kept asking Powell, Cheney, and Schwartzkopf exactly when the ground offensive would begin.
So, expert troll that I am, I decided to begin a thread with an imaginary press conference consisting of BBI's resident asshats fielding questions asked by BBI members. But I couldn't get it to work and it was frustrating.
Then, with recent political events in mind, another idea for a thread began to form, one based on intrigue, subterfuge, and conspiracy theories. Initially, I'd planned on casting Eric, Gary, Bold Ruler, and gidiefor as a cabal of basement-dwelling operatives who referred to themselves as "The Mod Squad." Their sole purpose being to drive traffic to the site "by any means necessary." But that didn't seem to work, either.
However, looking around for pictures to augment my words (which is my stock-in-trade), among the tinfoil hats and shots of Alex Jones, shots of the The Question from the Justice League animated series' kept popping up. If you know anything about me, you'd know that I was a huge fan of those shows (I'd used pictures of Green Arrow and Black Canary, among others for posts in the past). If you know anything about The Question, you'd know that he's all about "connecting the dots."
So, I ran with The Question. It wasn't an attack on anyone, least of all JonC, whom I've known here for over ten years and consider a friend, as well as one of the more rational and knowledgeable posters on the site. We've sparred on occasion - I do like to kid him from time to time - but it's always done in the spirit of good fun and with mutual respect.
Everybody gets so serious around here, especially leading up to the draft. One of the reasons I stopped doing mock drafts is because I'd spend all day fighting with people who didn't think Joe Shlabotnick was a good value in the 4th Round, or whatever. Life's too short, and has too much drama for my taste to add to it needlessly.
So, I like to lighten the mood. I like to make people smile (and occasionally to think). I could say, "The Giants should draft so-and-so," or I could say, "GIVE ME SO-AND-SO, OR GIVE ME DEATH!" I could pepper asshats with questions they wouldn't answer even if they could, or I could just have some fun with the whole idea of inside information, leaks, and "connecting the dots." I make no apologies for that.

Don’t let the few destroy it for the rest of us. We appreciated the inside info and I come to this site looking for your posts, specifically. Thanks for all the great info!
Excellent! (And I forgive you your Mykele love, ever more) So many take themselves so effing seriously. And to JonC and gtgiant, keep the faith. Lots of fun to be had. Hope the FO doesn't screw it up.
Loved the Danny Kanell reprise on experts' analyses of Aaron Rodgers, our boy Marc wong as rain (he did have company)

Mykkele, Mykkele...how could I have been so wrong?
didn't bug me in the least. I understand posters tend to be emotional and want to know it all right now this instant, and some can be idiots behind a keyboard.

didn't bug me in the least. I understand posters tend to be emotional and want to know it all right now this instant, and some can be idiots behind a keyboard.
Admittedly, I thought the entire thread was kinda funny.
As someone mentioned earlier, even IF you two are correct, there's so many conflicting resources out there that the good data just gets lost with the old data - especially when it comes to an already highly variable draft.
I mean, hypothetically, both of you could know exactly who the Giants want at 6, 17, AND 37. However, player 6 gets picked, they can't get 17 because he was picked at 14, but instead of getting your 37 guy, you get a guy you ranked 28 who mysteriously got lost in the shuffle.
Now, you're only 33% accurate - but you could of course still have good information all the same.
All in all, I found this thread very entertaining, never took the content seriously, and am glad this all is done Thursday/Friday night.

Lol at this thread and nicely said Klaatu.. I rarely have much time to comment, sometimes barely enough time to read, but I always enjoy your posts.
Of a few ruining good things for the rest of everyone else.
That's why we can't have things like:
Lawn Jarts
Red Rider BB guns
Separate sex bathrooms
Political discussions on BBI
Thanksgiving with that certain uncle
Giant sodas in NYC
Fraternity hazing
Questionable jokes in public places
Hugs at work
Etc, etc etc.
It's all good until someone runs it for everyone else.... "thanks (fill in the blank)!!
Well, that settles it for me. If a deal for Rosen is not in the cards (pun intended), take a pass on drafting a QB this year.
Like the man said, "With where the Giants are now, I personally prefer to use the early picks on building a better team around Eli Manning and come back to the QB situation again in a year because I think you will always be able to find QB prospects with this kind of upside that Jones, Haskins, Lock…etc."

Just pissing you off now?? LOL Most times the stupidity is unbearable.
Says the lady with a whole thread busting his balls? Alright then..
I'm sorry you're too stupid to understand what this thread was all about. Maybe you should go back and read what I wrote on 4/21 at 6:42. It spells things out pretty clearly. If I was busting anybody's balls, it certainly wasn't jt's or any other asshat's. I made that quite clear for anyone with half their brain cells working.
RE: Yeah, and do me a favor and keep that shit off my thread. Â
Sorry ma'am but maybe you should just stick to writing in your diary. No one writes back when you write in one of those.
I see we have another fine, upstanding member of the 101st Keyboard Division here, his bravery on full display as he lobs insults from behind a wall of anonymity. Does he contribute anything of value? Of course not. He has neither the cleverness, the creativity, nor the wit. He only has invective, which he uses with all of the prowess of an 8th Grader. He's the personification of "dumbing down," and truly a credit to his generation.

I was right about Deep Space Nine, though.
Yes, in fact you were.
With that said. Is Buckner in play for pick 17 JT? 😎

Are you going to keep bumping this thread until the draft begins?
I wasn't planning on it, but then I came across this post.
Hmmm. I see your point.
It's a crazy world, Supes.
Like the sign says, "In Case of Asshat, Break Glass."
Who's this guy, Kyle Sloter, whose name keeps popping up in trade rumors?
Huntress, that's one question I can't seem to answer.
Admittedly, I thought the entire thread was kinda funny.

Take JonC's name off the list.
Will do.
Oh, and keep Fire & Ice away from him.
Why?
Face it, Huntress, he's past his prime.
"33% accurate?" That's not what it says here.

I couldn't agree more.
Question, I thought you were finished with this?
I thought so, too, Supes. But like Michael Corleone, every time I try to get out they keep pulling me back in.
Huntress is out of town for the weekend, still seven hours to go before the draft begins, I wonder if---say, who's that?
Are you insane? Don't even think about it! If Huntress finds out she'll "disconnect your dots" in a heartbeat.
Just pissing you off now?? LOL Most times the stupidity is unbearable.
What happened?
I don't know. One minute Dodge was here, the next minute he was gone.
No, I meant what happened to your eye?
Oh. I was laughing so hard at those Jets fans, I didn't watch where I was going and walked right into my Lombardi Trophy replicas.
But we are the jackasses because his info is rock solid
Damn, Question. Is it really that bad?
Let's just say it isn't good.
Feeling better now?
A little, yeah.

And the day after.
