I have incontrovertible evidence that he, JonC, and Peppers all met with Pat Hanlon in Prague back in late February, where they conspired to "stir the pot" here prior to the draft, and lead us all down a carefully laid out garden path of misdirection and falsehoods.
"Definitive" posts about the Giants' preferences at QB and on defense. Mysterious allusions to trades, before and during the draft. Artfully worded threads about potential free agent signings. It all makes sense now.
Note: although Eric has been a huge beneficiary of their sinister machinations, I can't say for certain if he was aware of their plans...but I wouldn't put it past him.
But people here are quoting Gil Brandt about his scouting reports. People should also have referenced this tweet he wrote yesterday:
"We never cleared the room but sometimes we'd lay traps for scouts we didn't trust. In 1987 we showed our board to a scout with us taking Mike Junkin, a LB we didn't like. Two days later, Cowboys beat writer Jim Dent wrote story saying we were taking Junkin."
Now, I don't necessarily have faith in DG to pull that stuff off, but it isn't unheard of to give people outside the "inner circle" misinformation. We'll see in five days. Gil Brandt Tweet - ( New Window )
I trust them over the media with no actual sources in the organization. It seems that many here are buying into all the false information being spread by the media.

See? I told you, Huntress. There's at least one on every thread.
going to spread disinformation I don't think this is the place they would go. Probably espn, the newspapers, popular twitter pundits, etc would be better

Hmmm...seems I might have missed something about JonC. Well, no problem...

A lot of beat writers read this forum, as well as people within the organization. And family members of players and such have posted here before. Don't really see them post as much as in prior years.

i don't doubt it. but newspapers, twitter, broadcast networks etc create a lot more buzz a lot faster. I don't think opposing gms are checking this forum. but they hear shit on espn and stuff blowing up on twitter..

See, guys? Some people are just slow on the uptake. Comes with the territory.
Eric we are on the same page here. I'm a pretty intuitive thinker and something seems different this year. They almost seem to be pumping way more misinformation this year. Why not our insiders?
If the Haskins things was a smokescreen then why haven't we heard a peep about it since? You want to convince people you are going Haskins and you keep sending out signals until it happens. Although all the ESPN people, including Kellerman a Giants fan, seem to think we are going Haskins so maybe they consider that a success.
that's all I can say. They have not bothered to try and smokescreen in the past, it would be a twist. My guy doesn't buy it on Haskins.
Yes, your info throughout the years has been disconcertingly accurate, but if there were a year to do it would it not be the year they are trying to grab their QB. Especially if they don't want to give up valuable premium picks. That is my point, this year just seems different. Especially because it seems like the only people involved in the decision process now are the GM, HC, and owner. Or at least I believe I read that here that they are the only ones that have access to the final board until draft day.
brilliant flim-flam here saw the real insider thread, posted and then culled in it's entirety, yesterday?
That thread revealed everything! I have a screenshot of the it that I will reveal after the draft... If I am not granted a luxury box pass to delete it.
QB is not currently in play at 6. And yes there has been some subterfuge on the Giants' part this year. It's not straight lying but different folks have been given different viewpoints. It's not bad information but it's only pieces.
Let's say I tell Writer 1 that our scouts love Devin White. I tell Writer 2 that our GM loves Montez Sweat. I tell Writer 3 that Shurmur really likes Haskins. That's all true but it is incomplete and not a consensus and in the race to be right people are throwing out nuggets as the absolute direction the team is taking.
Attacking jonc, and me over the past few days, it's ridiculous. Jonc is as good as they come. His track record, and mine, has been really good. This site is beyond pissing me off right now

So...you're in on it, too, eh, Jim? If that is, indeed, your name, and you really are in Tampa.
BTW, I used to like Klatu until I read that horrible diatribe about hating short people.
But they were seen in Vanuatu....
Now, who could have done that, I wonder?
Don't worry. I've got some killer friends.

I was right about Deep Space Nine, though.

Short people got no reason....

You’re bananas
Make that two.
Wait....what?
That's what they want you to think.

But according to what JonC said they have 5 blue chip talents rated on defense.
That's the same feeling I've gotten.

Best thing for them is strong belief Haskins or Lock are targets.
