how are we going to win games. Do we need to score 52 points each game in order to have a chance to win? We have no one on defense that scares an opposing offense. We would be very lucky to find a scary defensive ball player at #37.
Man, I am so sick of meaningless mock drafts. The only mock I would pay attention to is the one conducted by the GM's...that one might mean something. Otherwise, Mel and Todds picks have as much meaning as Moe Larry's and Curly's.
This draft, the ACTUAL draft, can NOT come soon enough!
Considering the talent. How bout this, after the super bowl, only one first round pick has been defense, yet people complain about Eli not getting help. That's why the defense is in such a porous state.
I think we'll go Defense and then possibly a QB or Olineman, but doesn't make sense to load up on Offense in First Round when we need Defensive starters
The Bob McGinn draft preview they have Jonah Williams as the #3 Center in the draft, do not think he will make it at Tackle in the NFL. Maybe Guard but Center was best fit.
...with a combined cap hit in excess of $40MM, yet those are the target positions at #6 and #17. I suppose Williams can play RT for a year or two. Not sure what Haskins will do. Can he punt?

Eli’s only on the books one year though. I think their plan has always been to bring in a rookie to play behind him for one year. Williams would play RT for at least this season, maybe 2020 as well and then shift over to replace Solder once they deem him to be worth less than his contract.
This team isn’t winning this year regardless. I’m ok basically fixing the o line and having a successor in place. Focus on d going forward
Agree Ned, there are a lot of players I would be fine with this year, we have so many needs. I would honestly not be upset with this draft. Our line would be terrific and I am higher on Haskins than many on here.
If it ends up being Haskins at #6 and #17 J. Williams, well, if both work out our future & offense is set at least.
But I have hope that the Giants still trade down with Denver who wants a QB (I'm guessing) and we get their #10 and 2nd round pick in return. We get defense (possibly Bush or a DL) and #17 J. Williams for RT would be fine with me.
and get here! Once the draft happens we can then read the insanity about why didn't the Giants trade up, trade down, why did they draft that guy when this guy was available. It is going to be a fun ride!
that's going to happen... Gettleman knows we need to fix this defense, and this is a deep, strong defensive draft, so why the hell would we pass on premier defensive prospects especially at #6???????????
making the playoffs this year anyway and getting Williams at 17 would be fantastic. Haskins I am iffy on but I am not a scout so what the hell do I know
People need to be realistic about the 2019 season. This team will be lucky to finish 7-9. They are not making a super bowl run. They have absolutely no identity, a big question at the most important position possibly in sports, and the foundation walls haven't been built as yet (protect QB, get after QB, run the ball, stop the run). The front office was high on on their own BS if they thought this team in 2018 was a star RB and a few pieces away from a playoff run. You have a new GM and staff, new HC and staff, and told 66% of the 2017 roster to go kick rocks. That's called rebuilding. Obviously mid way through the season they figured out what many others knew - they wildly miscalculated. I believe the 2020 season is when they can finally be considered a playoff team. The OL is making functional improvements and hopefully it can continue. The young cats on D showed promise and hopefully they can continue as well. With a solid draft this offseason and next, and hopefully getting an answer for QB by next year, this team will be back on track.

I gather you don't care for the players. But as the other guy said, Eli's contract ends in 2019, and Williams has played both OT positions.
What was Alex Smith's salary when Reid grabbed Mahomes? Without Williams, right now Chad Wheeler is the Giants' starting ORT.
Claiming it "doesnt make sense" seems out of character for you, BBB.
Solidifying the Oline helps Eli and Saquon. Play ball control and hope to hit on some D players later. If the draft is as ‘thick’ as DGnsays then he should be able to find some players.
Fix the Oline, get a QB in place and use the cap $ and draft next year to build a solid D.
Ok.
The only thing that would come out to this draft is knowing that the Giants fooled us BBIs, and JT and JonC where given misinformation.
Ok.
^This. Not happening. It would be stunning.
This draft, the ACTUAL draft, can NOT come soon enough!
Ill help ease your pain......its not real:).
No, he might be an OG in the NFL, overrated as an OT.
I believe all were gone by 17.

I think in this scenario they go all out on defense from round 2 on, aside from one WR and maybe a developmental OL somewhere in the mix.
Lol, pretty much. Has he ever been right about a Giants pick? Outside of maybe Barkley (I think he had them taking Barkley anyway)
