It has to be, this seasons battle scene is much larger than the battle of the bastards. There is no way they are fitting in Jaimes arrival, the setup, and the battle in 58 minutes. I think the episode will end with the arrival of the walkers at winterfell.

My problem is this episode should have been last weeks. We didn’t need a full episode reunion, we aren’t stupid, we all know what happened last season. They could have hit the ground running and didn’t. It is what it is.
Meanwhile, I love Emilia Clark as a person, but she is an awful actress.

Cmon. It's been a decade of watching these character arcs. They are building towards a climax next week - I appreciated the send off for so many of these characters. You can wait a week for blood and an Action Jackson movie.
Brienne being knighted assures her death for example. The crypts by the way is not going to be a safe place for these poor souls - first to die next week I'm guessing.

I liked Jon telling Dany who he is, and I liked the knighting of Brienne. Thats about it. I'll bet $1 that Brienne dies saving Jaime's life next episode.

I disagree about Arya with how many girls there first time is through rape she chose on her terms plus it shows she has finally reclaimed who she was.

Went into thinking the Jon / Dany baby assumes the throne when this is over but maybe it now ends up Arya / Gendry kid. Though there were no deaths this episode im guessing vegas odds (which have been out there for months) moved a bit tonight.

They could have handled everything they wanted to get across in half of the last episode and used the rest of it for this slow ass episode.
People complaining about these episodes being too sentimental, try sitting thru all of those seasons of the Walking Dead. That show has no idea how to get it right, GOT was right on the money for me.

I don’t agree at all. Sure, I want to know what happens next. But we don’t need two recap episodes, it was a giant waste. I really liked this episode but it didn’t push anything forward. They should have been combined, it was basically telling us what we already knew, but twice.

Outside of a minute and a half dragon ride, last weeks episode wasn’t very wasteful. There are a massive amount of characters that all deserve their moments before the conclusion. 8 seasons now I wouldn’t want that part rushed. Yeah they were slow-ish but this episode particularly was fine. Again, once we know the conclusion I expect season 8 episode 2 to be looked back on as being even better.
These two eps were always going to be appetizers to the main course that will be these next 4 eps. Like I said I enjoyed the appetizers but I’m ready to eat for real. Can’t wait for this next month of epic tv.

I loved it too those complaining saying all this should of been done last week I’d agree if it was a longer episode but it wasn’t so if they did that it would be like 20 seconds for each thing and people would bitch about that
