We all know the bad news already. No one's gonna feel bad for us, so... just gotta keep finding ways and hope some reinforcements start getting back before we run out of replacements.

Thairo Estrada was the corresponding move for Judge's transfer to the IL.

Pax was incredible last time out. Let's see if it carries over.

Happy Easter, boys.

Let's go, Yanks.

Was wondering who would step up
section125 : 4/21/2019 12:22 pm : link
and put their reputation on the line today! Kudos arc..

Now let's show the AL what this team is made of!

See y'all when I get back from Easter Lunch...

Crazy.... this was the opening day lineup...

1. Brett Gardner (L) CF
2. Aaron Judge (R) RF
3. Giancarlo Stanton (R) LF
4. Luke Voit (R) DH
5. Miguel Andujar (R) 3B
6. Gary Sanchez (R) C
7. Greg Bird (L) 1B
8. Gleyber Torres (R) 2B
9. Troy Tulowitzki (R) SS

:(

Sanchez and Stanton are probably closest. Should see Sanchez activated for the WC trip.

Hicks is flying to Tampa today - rehab games, etc. He's healthy. Just needs to build up into every day game shape.

Tulo and Miggy are also going to Tampa and "making progress."

Stanton is "doing really well"

So, we will actually get some of these guys back. But losing Judge is crushing, man. Unbelievable the luck we've had.

Post had a quote from Stanton saying that he is still not 100% and won't start full swings until he is 100%....

IDK..
.
arcarsenal : 4/21/2019 12:35 pm : link
I think with Stanton, basically Boone said that the WC trip was "possible" but also probably a bit of a long shot - my guess is we see him early May after hearing he's still not 100%

But, beyond Sanchez, his timeline is actually probably kind of close to Hicks'

I'd guess we see Gary back first (Wednesday)... then Hicks... then Stanton shortly after, then Tulo.

Miggy is up in the air, I guess.
Call me paranoid

But not seeing Torres in the lineup has me a bit...

Nah, it’s gotta just be a day off, right? Right?

I think this is actually just a legit R/R rest day for him. He'e been struggling pretty badly recently.

Having that 3 run HR count would have been nice... but we know how that went.

Torres since 4/8...

43 AB, .434 OPS, 13 K, 1 BB, 3 RBI, .178 OBP

Just said on the pre game that ellsbury had a few setbacks and is not doing any baseball drills. WTF. Yeah, Stanton said that he is “still feeling it”
.
arcarsenal : 4/21/2019 1:04 pm : link
The Yanks don't actually want Ellsbury to play.

Expect to hear about "setbacks" pretty much all year long...
.
arcarsenal : 4/21/2019 1:07 pm : link
Shock...

Just in case, Boone did specifically say that it's just a day off for Gley - "nothing to worry about" - so, (I had the same paranoid thought too) - but it looks like he's fine.

I'd guess he'll pinch hit later in the game if it's close and we need a run.

1-0, Yanks on a leadoff double by DJ, taking 3rd on Voit's F9 and then scoring on a WP.
Need a good game from Paxton today

Frazier just raking and taking advantage of the playing time. The 3 run HR is just what we needed to tack on and choke out the Royals.

He's got 17 RBIs already and his bat has been huge so far.
That was some

Bats have been fine

But the SP's have really given us a big boost this week. Paxton especially.

But KC has been umped a bit today. Wide zone.

That pitch to Soler is almost always a strike. A touch low, but where was it at the front of the plate? Just got in, so don't know if they have been all that way.
Nice job Kahnle!

Kahnle has been
section125 : 4/21/2019 3:07 pm : link
getting the job done. Getting his 97 mph heater back was huge. Strong inning.

Just called that on Voit as well.
Are the mikes closer to the field

Better mics or quieter crowd? Can actually here the umpire sometimes.

They didn't show the side view on Voit - I thought he held up, but the umps have a good view.
God, Green is
section125 : 4/21/2019 3:23 pm : link
awful. He should not be in in these situations until he gets straightened out.
Great pitching Greene

Christ.
Why don’t they send him down?

GruningsOnTheHill : 4/21/2019 3:29 pm : link
With the Yankees' lockdown pen, what odds would you have gotten if someone had told you at the top of this inning the 5-0 game would be tied before an out was even recorded?
LOL.
Dave in Hoboken : 4/21/2019 3:29 pm : link
This team blows.
5-5

Maybe he should just settle on a couple of Royals scrubs?
That is on stupid for bringing
section125 : 4/21/2019 3:33 pm : link
Green into the game and letting him fill the bases.

Boone is not the smartest tool in the shed. He should never ever chance squandering a game with this line up.
What a joke
NYerInMA : 4/21/2019 3:33 pm : link
No excuse blowing a 5-0 lead to these scrubs.
You have to be fucking kidding me
Stu11 : 4/21/2019 3:34 pm : link
This pen has been awful. Absolutely awful. Just about everyone of them at one point or another. Blown 3 or 4 games already.
*sharpest tool
section125 : 4/21/2019 3:34 pm : link
.. just a tool.
keep him in there Boone

Batting in the 8th...
GruningsOnTheHill : 4/21/2019 3:40 pm : link
Tauchman/Urshela/Ford, with nobody of consequence available to pinch hit.

If someone had told you this 1 month ago?
Boone is not
section125 : 4/21/2019 3:40 pm : link
the manager for this team. Has no feel for the game. He doesn't know how to handle the pen. Yes you do not expect Ottavino to blow up, but he is a bit off when he comes in and takes time to settle.
Tauchman!
GruningsOnTheHill : 4/21/2019 3:42 pm : link
Nice piece of hitting.

Let's win this.
