If you want defense at #6, assuming the following are gone..

Better then White so I would go with him or Oliver

Sweat would be off my board, if I were the Giants.

Bush better than White, too.

White would improve the entire defense.

Sweat would improve our third down numbers.

I would pick White. Our LB corps is so bad -- worse than our DL by far. We need a playmaker LB. Devin White. Sweat would not surprise me, nor would Oliver. White's less-than-perfect instincts will improve with experience.

Wilkins, then Oliver.

And that pick would determine how I approached 17 & 37. I'd target Lawrence and Winovich at those respective spots.

I want to come out of this draft feeling like I have a side of the LOS I can hang my hat on.

might still be there at #17.

Doubt Bush will be there.

So you could take Bush who would bolster the D against both the run and pass manning the middle of the D then grab one of Wilkins, Ferrell or Lawrence at #17 and bolster the DL

Must take a cb by #37 which then means having to take an OT by #95 which would improve the D by bolstering the run game and therefore increase time of possession.

Take another corner at #108 and a ER at #133 and you just might have something

Maybe Oliver’s ceiling is slightly higher burial take showing up vs Bama. And character wise it’s not close. Doesn’t mean Oliver won’t be a stud. Would be ok w Sweat or White too

He’s the safest of the bunch at 6 with comparable upside.

The rest are too boom or bust for my liking at 6.

1-- Oliver
2-- Sweat
3-- Wilkins

Q.Williams and Wilks are very likely at the very top of the list.

Q.Williams is gold jacket material, breaking through double teams at will. Wilks will be very good but a bit below that.

You need to fix the line. I think Wilkens fits what the Giants are looling for.

I was listening to Dan Csonka from OURLADS, who was a guest on big blue kick off. I believe he said that Wilkins is a borderline gold jacket player, given his talent.

I dont see him wreaking the consistent havoc on the DL like Williams. And Bama doesnt quite have the talent on DL that Clemson does. More attention was paid to Williams yet he was absolutely dominant in every way regardless. AND he has rhe amazing character to boot.

This isn't to say Wilk wont be excellent but I dont quite see generational like I do with Q

But he is very much the pick I would expect out of DG at 6 if he is unsuccessful to trade up for Q.

Dexter is no where near the character guy Wilkins is.

Isn’t the game changer I’d want at 6, maybe 17.

Oliver v White v Sweat.

At that point it would be fit.

I go Oliver (only if his interviews and coaches check the boxes of him being a team player). If his mentality isn’t a fit, I look at White in Bettcher’s scheme. If he doesn’t fit i go Sweat or trade down and load up on picks for this and next years draft.

Wilkins or Oliver.

everyone of those guys and how they will fit into our defense. Bettcher has seen all their films and talked to teammates, coaches and opponents about them all. How they work out in the locker room as well. Love this staff. Attention to detail.. We will not waste our 6th pick. IMO. Gotta believe.

I wouldn't complain about any of them at #6 nor would I be surprised if one of them slips to 17. Teams panic if they think there will be a run on a position that is thin thinking they can draft defense later in the draft. A run like that could force one of the front 7 guys to slide to 17. There are still some opinions (Dave T, Brian Billick) who think all these QBs are being pushed up by need. When these QBs started rising on everyone's boards and Mocks all I could think of is Jake Locker, Blaine Gabbert, & Christian Ponder in 2011. Billick made reference to them on the NFL network this week.....Again My VP coaches at the best HS Football School in our state. He has former players in the Big Ten and SEC. He was told Haskins gets rattled easily by a big time DC from the Big Ten. I think our #1 goal is to fix the defense. Don't spread yourself too thin! When you get to #95 and 108 there should be players of equal rank at multiple positions. Then look at need.

He is the best pass rusher available at that point IMO. Like Wilkins and White too.

Oliver has the most upside for today's NFL: interior penetrator who can grow to be 2nd to Donaldson and not by much.

D. White - starts day 1 and shines in the NFL, a probowl caliber player who will want big money when his day comes as he has said as much. Makes me wonder about his character, his psyche a little bit???

Wilkins - safe, solid pick and not what I'd want for #6 but definitely for #17 should he fall.

Sweat may be great and maybe not??? Not sure????

My gut tells me QB Murray goes #1 and SF, Oakland and the Jets (at least one of them, maybe 2) trade down because someone wants Haskins and Jones or maybe Lock before the Giants pick? That is my hope maybe more than my gut.

can be the best fit with our current roster but that coyld change based on their plans for the rest of the draft or a shuffle of current roles. A guy that can play the edge, the 5 and kick in and play the 3 tech in pass rush packages is a perfect fit.

Sweat offers so much upside and help in pass rush packages but the argument could be made that Golden or Carter would be semi neturalized to get him on the feild.


White slots right in but can he deliver the impact you want at 6, Oliver could be the biggest impact player in the draft but feels like the piece to add to a good d more the build with.

Wilkins is no risk fill a role but with hill and tomlinson i see redundacy that doesnt mesh perfectly

I would be very happy if they draft Wilkins at 6 and Ferrell at 17.

Both players would be excellent additions

he will not be there at 17 and he will make our other lineman better by bringing the pressure.

I still have nightmares watching opposing teams offenses easily attacking the middle of our defense. White on the inside plus the addition of Peppers and Bethea hopefully improves our pass coverage in the middle of the field. Plus White can run down RB’s sideline to sideline that we haven’t seen in 30 years.

I wouldn't risk on Sweat's medicals, he's not the total package on the football field and the pick is too important.

They were talking with someone who has seen Oliver his entire college career. He mentioned the injury as a concern but also mentioned the fact that his numbers went down this past year. The reason he sited was the fact that he was double teamed almost all the time and triple teamed on many occasions. The 2 LB's playing behind him led the team in tackles which tells me he's a handful and then some. He can play both inside and outside. Reminds me of Justin Tuck and Usi.
