Just bought plane tix to Dallas

Son and I have started a tradition of 1 away game a year to see the Giants. This year Dallas is the destination. Just scored really inexpensive round trip flights.

Anyone who has gone can you lend some insight? I am thinking of staying at the new Lowes hotel right next to the stadium. We fly in Saturday afternoon and fly out Monday afternoon.

Any must see things while down there?

Would we be better off staying in Fort Worth and Ubering around? Dallas and Ubering?

If any other BBI'ers will be there we should meet up for a beer or 10 ;-)

The redemption tour starts 9/8/19!!!!!!!
Awesome

Check out downtown, you can take the DART buses around, go to the JFK memorial in the book repository, definitely check out Deep Ellum. Some good beer to be had there, and live music!

Not familiar with the Hotel but I have stayed at the Dallas Courtyard near the stadium and it's not luxury but it's decent and not expensive. Usually any nicer hotels I stay at for work are further away from the stadium.
Jerry World is really an amazing experience

I have not been there for a Giants game, but attended a preseason game there as part of a business function. Feels more like a Vegas hotel than a stadium in many ways.

If I remember correctly, it is not really all that close to Dallas proper.
Enjoy it. You're a great Giants fan. I hope you get a win

I stopped after kids but a fun way to see new cities. Never did Dallas though.
Very nice tradition

Bring the win home with you.
Stadium is in Arlington
About 20 minutes from Dallas and 15 minutes from Fort Worth. Arlington has Six Flags and a water park near the stadium plus some restaurants. If your looking for nightlife stay either in Dallas or Fort Worth.
Dallas has Deep Ellen and Uptown and Fort Worth has Sundance Square. Excellent restaurants in both cities. Try Joe T Garcia’s for TexMex in FW and Pecan Lodge in Deep Ellis for heat BBQ.
The stadium atmosphere is like a big tent circus. Jerry Jones knows how to market the Cowboys.
Enjoy the road trip and here’s hoping the Giants win.
I prefer Ft Worth myself

Sundance Sq area has many restaurants, bars, even a Improv Comedy Club (4 Day Weekend). Its also a short drive to the Stockyards, which is a section of town kept in the 1800's. It has bars, restaurants, a rodeo, etc. There is a bar called the White Elephant which has cowboy hats on the ceiling from the 1800's. There is also a Billy Bobs (think Urban Cowboy), which is a huge bar that has an electric bull ride, concerts, and other stuff
Pecan Lodge is in Deep Elllum in Dallas
For awesome BBQ. Long Lines get their early.
Fort Worth also has some great museums and one of the best Zoo’s in the country. Where the West truly begins.Lot’s of cowboy hats and boots.
Have fun
Would recommend staying in Dallas or Fort Worth

and then ubering to the game. Both cities are about 30 minutes from the stadium. The stadium is in Arlington which is between Fort Worth and Dallas.

Both cities have a lot to do and good food in both cities. Not much to do in Arlington itself other than Six Flags and the stadium. If you do stay in Arlington could also see a Rangers game if they are in town that weekend. Will probably be hot though.

The stadium is really nice. There are usually a good amount of Giants fans there so it is not uncomfortable to wear your jersey. Traffic is pretty bad around the stadium so allow time coming and going.
Good stuff.

Going to enjoy this one. Will talk to the son about what’s important to him. I’m all about good food and a Giants win. Leaning Fort Worth now. Thanks for all the feedback.
Really nice city

Have been there multiple times for work. Eat as much BBQ as you can when down there. If you’re a fan of Fast N’Loud go to the Gas Monkey Bar n Grill, its good.

Wife and I have talked about going there when we retire, but we’re 35 and there is just too many Cowboys fans.
Nice. I go to one away game a year as well.

I did Dallas in 2013. Everything was a great experience, except for the outcome of the game.

Thinking of checking out New England Patriots game this year.
If the timing works, do AT&T Stadium tour as soon as you get into town

even 10 years or so on, it's still a pretty amazing place and well worth your time.
Go to the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, where
that SOB Lee Oswald killed JFK.

Still get chills standing there where American history changed on a dime.
Second the point of visiting Dealy Plaza ...

It's living history ...and you can draw your own conclusions on conspiracy theories and the grassy knoll. Nearly 60 years later it still hits home.
