And the Rosen gamble could be worthwhile. I'm looking at that trade as Peterson for 17 and Rosen for a 3rd and 4th and that sounds like a steal for the Giants. I mean from a pure value perspective. They will have gotten Peterson, Rosen, Peppers, and Zeitler for OBJ and Vernon.
Still I'm not sold on picks for Peterson as a long term move.

Agreed. Peterson is a top corner, but by the time the Giants are actually a good team again (hopefully), Peterson will be past his prime.
No way you trade a 1st round pick for Rosen. Not when the Cards have zero leverage.
The Cardinals' leverage depends on the league-wide market for Josh Rosen. which none of us know. I'm not saying he's worth a first-round pick, just that we have no clue what he could ultimately fetch in a trade, or whether Arizona will trade him at all.
I agree with those who say Peterson makes more sense for a team... Â
This or any other rumor but you guys miss the point. The Giants aren't rebuilding. They want to win now
Understood, and I can see the team wanting Peterson for that reason. But like a lot of Giant fans, I think the team is at least a year away from serious contention, so I'd rather not trade draft picks for vets whose best football is likely behind them.

Don't even bother trying to explain this yet again, because the "Cards have no leverage" posters will just keep repeating this same mantra.
They don't understand that in a scenario where multiple teams are interested in a player, no single buyer would have leverage.
This Rosen stuff will not die until the bitter end.
Look at what the Giants are doing and stressing. They aren't bringing in Josh Rosen as the face of the franchise for the next 10 years. 2 of our biggest insiders are saying the same thing.
Patrick Peterson on the other hand....makes a lot more sense

Digging their heels in the ground wanting to win now is the best way to mire this team in mediocrity for years.
I don't understand how they can possibly stand their "win now" plan when they went 5-11 last year. That wasn't winning now. They lost, and they lost a lot.
They want to win now next year too, yet they let go probably two of their three best players this offseason (OBJ and Landon Collins) and their best pass rusher (Vernon). I don't necessarily disagree with those moves, and Peppers may prove to be a legit replacement for Collins and perhaps more versatile, but it's highly unlikely that this team will be better than 7-9 or 8-8 this coming year. That's not winning now either. AND, if the Giants don't draft a replacement QB this year (and I'm not sold on any of the QBs in the first round this year), it's going to be really tough to trade up to get one of the top QBs next year with a 7-9 or 8-8 record. So maybe that leaves Eli in 2020 at 40 years old or a journeyman while they continue their search for a QB.
I would bet that if they do eventually have a winning season, but don't have a top young QB prospect in place at that time, they may be 10-6 that year, but they'll be 6-10 or 7-9 the following year. Over the last two decades, teams without a solid starting QB almost never have sustained success year in and year out. The only team I can think of that might have fit that bill is the Ravens. Flacco, although a first round pick, has been mediocre for most of his career, but the Ravens drafted so well on defense year in and year out that they remained in playoff contention for several years. You gotta be as good at drafting as Baltimore was in order to do that though.

Oh please. If they wanted to win NOW, they wouldn’t have traded away one of the best WR in the league. Nothing on this team says “Win now” and nothing they do in this draft will make them a “Win now” team.
If they believe this, then they’re delusional. Wasting draft picks by adding Peterson and his contract is moronic.
Get it done
The Giants get Josh Rosen and the Cards 3rd rounder
Or
The Cards get the Giants 37 and next years 2nd
The Giants get Rosen and Cards 3rd
Fair trade all the way around.
Still I'm not sold on picks for Peterson as a long term move.
What the fuck does them being a bad team have to do with it? Peterson is a good player and Rosen clearly has value...
Them being bad bring a reason not to trade with them is a pretty stupid thought process
Geez, at least make it cream cheese Amr lox on matzah
Either trade a mid round pick for Rosen or move on and use the picks to build up the roster with more affordable, rookie contracts.

why NYG fans want to trade with the worst team in the NFL again and again and again.

It's actually sound logic as the Cards talent level is the worst in the NFL. Enough Arizona rejects brought in the past year plus...
Worst team last year, over the past 5 years the Cardinals have been the considerably better team.

Haven’t we tried that?

An experienced corner has to be better than whatever corner we draft
Well, both you and the OP would be terrible GMs. It’s a fucking stupid trade.

You really might want to not take this ROSEN stuff so personally.
