Does Peterson have any chance of being more than a prime Jason Vargas upside?
Does Peterson have any chance of being more than a prime Jason Vargas upside?
I mean Vargas in his prime only had 2 seasons where he was even above average, 1 where he was right on the brink so yeah I think Peterson can be better than that but yeah he's closer to a back-end guy who gets ground balls and quality innings than the next big thing.
I hated the Cano deal and still do. Well see what happens with Kelenic but I think he's the goods.

Looks like it was an issue that Gio wanted to start and not be used in relief? Did the Mets somehow not offer gio a rotation spot over Vargas?

Mets were unwilling to offer guaranteed money and didn't see him as an upgrade over Vargas...
Shouldn't we be trying to do anything to upgrade him. Really hope these guys see something I don't, because I everytime I watch Vargas pitch other team hits lazers everywhere.
I know I for one can't wait to continue see 85 mph fireballer Vargas pitch some more.
