Anyone ever use one of these? I have only ever had gas but the electric ones are way cheaper. Do they work even remotely well or just a waste of money and get another gas one?
make sure you store it in your house during the winter months if you live in an area that goes below freezing. Any water inside will freeze/thaw/repeat and lower the lifespan.
Owned a Gas Powered power washer for over 10 years. At first, it was fine, then the carburetor gasket warped and performance suffered. Replaced the gasket and several years later, it happened again. When it worked, it was fine but starting was always a PITA and parts always needed replacement, including the starter pull cord --- add to that gasoline storage and oil changes. I finally purchased a Ryobi (Home Depot brand) electric model and have never looked back. Easy to use, no priming and easy push button starting. Works well for light to medium duty projects --siding, patio furniture, walkways, etc. Easy to change nozzles for different jobs, including a Turbo nozzle. I would recommend, especially if you could get one on sale (usually end of season). Since I use it about 6 times a year, this works well for me.
A typical outdoor extension cord uses 16 guage wire which is insufficient for the electrical draw of these washers. Cord could overheat and create a fire.
Get a 14 guage or even a 12 guage extension, depending on cord length.
Probably wouldn't handle heavy duty stuff, but I like mine.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Sun Joe SpX 3000. Been happy with it thus far.
I expect to be ordering one today or tomorrow, largely based on this info.
