NFT: finished my last road trip

Alan in Toledo : 4/24/2019 11:50 am
Drove from Sarasota to St. Louis (1044 miles) to catch two Cardinals' games (Mets on Sunday afternoon and Brewers Monday night).

Cards won both 6-4 and 13-5 giving up four home runs in both games (and no other runs) -- something announced on radio during Tuesday's game that had never happened before.

Then, for good measure Cards gave up three more dingers on Tuesday winning 4-3.

Hadn't visited Busch III before so that itch has been scratched before turning 85 in October.
Good for you.

Never been to St. Louis & must admit I have little to no interest in going there. Maybe I'm wrong?
One of our sons married a woman from St Louis whose dad is the most

dedicated Cardinals fan imaginable. Actually, their whole fan base is pretty amazing. When we went out there to visit before the wedding we went to a game at Busch - quite an experience. Hot and muggy weather there though!

Anyway - congrats on your road trip ...

just got back from there yesterday. Actually a neat city. Diehard cardinals fans. The west suburbs are great.
Safe travels!

Live there, one in Soulard and one in Tower Grove. Downtown is coming back (refurbished cityscape around the Arch), pride in the Cardinals is impressive (though at times, a bit too much), great unhealthy food (think Pappy's and Bogart's, among lots of others). Terrific beer town too, but make sure you don't order a Miller or Coors lite anywhere. They take their Bud allegiance quite seriously.

And BBI member Mike in St. Louis is one of the nicest guys I've ever met and my oldest Emily concurs!
I spent two years in St Louis

One week back in 2008 for work.

formerly the Crowne Plaza and pretty dated.

They gave me a three-room suite for $91 + tax.

BTW, I arrived home on Tuesday in just under 24 hours from the end of Monday night's game and just a few minutes after the end of Tuesday night's game.

Nice trip.

Nothing better than a good old fashioned road trip across ....good old America. I did the Midwest 2 or so years ago. Finally got my first Jack in the Box experience!

Still have yet to do Arizona, New Mexico and all of that shit. I'll get to it.
