Too many NFL teams have become deluded into thinking you must over draft for a QB. That Chicago traded up for Mitchell Trubisky shows teams are just irrational and will over reach. It saying he’s a bad QB but if they ever win I have a hard hard time thinking he will be some stud QB who carried them.
in order to get a QB. Honestly I think the Giants want the Skins to trade up for a QB. My dream scenario would be for Washington to trade the 15th pick, their 2020 1st and another day two pick to move up for Haskins or Jones. Then Allen or Quinnen Williams falls to the Giants at 6. Then the Giants trade down from 17 pick up another day two pick and then turn around and trade the 37th pick for Rosen.
The prospect of of baiting them into mortgaging their future for a player who flops is incredible.
In the flip side, what if they want the Skins to trade up, plant all kinds of info to instigate a trade up...and the prospect in question becomes a stud?
I love it when Snyder gives away the farm and if he wants to do it for a QB in this draft class, even better!
Where the heck have you been?!
Hi Eric! I took a bit of a social media hiatus, cancelled my FB account, laid low for a while. But with the draft nearing, I could no longer resist the pull of BBI! It's good to be back (as long as DG doesn't screw up the draft)!

Still a win if we had no intention of taking said QB. We're getting a division rival to give up premium assets and getting a prospect we want pushed down to us. That said, I think the dust has settled and this year is an underwhelming QB group. The top guys are rising because of that fact and NFL is always desperate for QBs.

I agree with this 100%. From your keyboard to the draft gods' eyes...
The Jets had to give up THREE 2nd round picks to move from 6 to 3 last year. Going from 15 to top 5 just about unheard of. Normally you creep up the draft by trading players or by acquiring a second 1st round pick. They don't have any of that.
They can't afford to move that far up. They would have like no picks left this year and it would ruin next year's draft too.

They could trade 2020 picks so they probably have enough.
It would cost probably a third of what a trade up would. and Given Sy's and other talent evaluators Rosen is every bit as good as either Haskins or Jones.
Do the giants want the reskins to do something stupid? Â

Go Danny Boy.
The Bears only traded up one spot. Costly, but they weren’t trying to go from 15.

I'd love for it to happen, trust me. But realistically? If the Jets paid three 2nds to move 3 spots. Then going from 15 to top 5 is going to cost at least a 2020 1st round, two 2nd round picks, and two 3rd round picks.
The Jets screwed everything up for future trade ups. Other teams will point to how much the Jets overpaid to move up 3 spots.
I'm a fan of Haskins, think he'll be good so would rather they not take him. Having said that, my dream scenario would involve us getting one of the real studs at 6 - I'll say Allen.
I would then like to trade with NE:
Give #17 (950 points)
Get #32 (590 points)
#56 (340 points)
#134 (38 points)
I realize that's a net gain of 18 points, but it's my dream, right?
The rest of my dream looks like this:
#32 - Dexter Lawrence (DT)
#37 - trade to AZ for Rosen
#56 - Dalton Risner (OT)
#95 - Paris Campbell (WR)
#108 - Jaylon Furgeson (Edge)
#132 - Hakeem Butler (WR)
#134 - Connor McGovern (C)
#142 - Nasir Adderley (S)
#143 - Justin Hollins (LB)
#171 - Cameron Smith (LB)
#180 - Sean Bunting (CB)
#232 - Ugo Amadi (CB)
#245 - Trevon Wesco (TE)
Would be pretty happy with that kind of haul. 14 (including Rosen) out of this draft? Why not!
All this qb talk has been a smoke screen. There are 3/4 elite players targeted in this draft in Q, JA, Oliver, Wilkins/White and they want as much of a choice as possible. So why not give the idea that they want a Qb so a manical douche like Snyder jimps ahead of them to take one, pushing the D player down.
I think DG is actually playing a game we arent used to be played hereat Jints Central (said with bw's lisp).
if they want a QB in the first. If Washington trades in front of them then they take a QB. Presumably that means at least 2 QBs are gone. We go Def and now if they want a QB at 17 the chances of one falling is not good.
There's so much smoke about the 3 QBs it just looks like he's trying to push someone to move up so a defender falls to him (hopefully bc he has Rosen in the bag).
Of course I am assuming the Skins go QB. Maybe a premature assumption.

MG and Russini both hearing they want Haskins.
I really hope its for Jones as it could potentially save us from ourselves.

I have no idea whether the Giants want it to happen, but I don’t think the Jones leak was to get them to do it.

Yes. Potentially opens up Josh Allen or Quinnen Williams, or White at worst.
Many pundits still believe (and are predicting) the Giants really are interested in Haskins. (And they may).
The NYG have shown themselves well in being the face of NFL on questionable moves for some time now...
“Redskins owner reportedly takes over team's draft, apparently looking to make move into top five”
I would love to hear that all of the reports of the Giants pick made Synder sweat and overreact to give up a lot of picks. Whether or not that’s the case, I hope that happens and they give up a lot of picks in a deep draft.
