Tool to compare Sy and two other player rankings

Jay in Toronto : 4/24/2019 6:38 pm
Earlier I asked for preferred expert rankings. There was not much consensus. Then I remembered that the Huddle Report ranked best rankings over the years. They were ranked 1 to 50.

I decided to take two additional rankings and, with Sy's, compare relative ranks.

I chose NFL Rough Draft which came in #1 last year and #2 in the last 5 years and Huddle Report's own value Board, which came in tied for 14th last year and 6th over the last 5.

Since the Huddle Board ranked 200 players, Sy 270, and Rough Draft 450, I used the Huddle Board as the standard. I probably could have done something more sophisticated, but as it was this took more hours than I had planned, LOL.

I have created a spreadsheet with Huddle's 200 Top Players and also included Sy and Rough Draft's rankings for the same player. Some did not make Sy's rankings and obviously, Rough Draft had many more so there was more overlap between Huddle and Draft. Since Huddle was the standard, there were quite a number of Sy's that were not ranked in Huddle's. Someone else can create additional spreadsheets if they wish :)

There are 5 worksheets in tabs on the bottom. The players appear alphabetically by first name in the first. The second is ordered Position (alphabetically), the third by Huddle's rankings, the fourth by Sy's and the fifth by Rough Draft.

It is fun and possibly instructive to compare the rankings. I plan to have this while watching the draft as a fun tool during the broadcast. I hope that others find it of value.

Huddle Report numbers you put up are from their Value Board which are projections for draft selection position not rankings. It’s their talent board where rankings are. Still helpful though, thanks for posting.
Nicely Done

Interesting take. That certainly wasn’t intent of the comment. Not sure how that’s your take away from what I said.
Nice job

Huddle Report may be confounded; don't think the Rough Draft ones are.

Sy I value the fact that there is diasagreement. Had I used your list as a standard, there would be plenty of players you ranked that the others, especially Huddle didn't, even allowing that they only ranked 200.
