Notably absent again is Frazier... not good. They said he was available off the bench last night and he maintains that he's fine, etc. This is telling me otherwise. He's been playing too well to be sitting for any reason other than his ankle still being an issue.
Sanchez has obviously been activated and is back in the lineup.
Higashioka was optioned to SWB.
Chad Green was also optioned to Scranton. The corresponding move was to call Tarpley back up.
Quick note on Green... he'd need to spend 63 days in the minors to delay his free agency. I don't believe that will factor in here - as soon as he looks right again, he'll be back. But; just a small nugget.
The Yankees have now won 7 of their last 8 games.
Let's keep it rolling tonight and make it 6 straight. Ain't no one going to feel bad for us, so... just need to keep pushing on ahead.
CC is 6 K's away from 3,000.
So, there's like a 50/50 chance he'll get there tonight.
(Don't quote me on those odds, I did no math at all... he's got 8 K's in 10 innings, so it's probably closer to 35-40% if he pitches 5 innings)
Did you say "Mahvelous"??
What a game.

I certainly am now!
What a fucking schmuck.
Sometimes shit happens. Scapegoats aren’t require for every little thing that happens.
Second, get your head out of your ass Wade. Just keep your damn foot on the base and stop wondering around the base like an idiot.
Yeah I didn't think it would be overturned either but they must've had an angle we didn't see. If they didn't though, there wasn't anything conclusive there as far as if/when he was actually tagged.
Not ridiculous at all...it was horrendous baserunning by Wade.
Very frustrating player. Has great tools, but hes a terrible hitter, makes bad base running decisions and looks like this cock mongrel:
6-5 good guys
Heck of a battle back by the B Bombers.
I would've been happy with playing .500 til we get healthy but six in a row is a really nice bonus. Keep it rolling tomorrow night and get the sweep!
Lucky for us, you’re not the manager.
Yanks come all the way back and win 6-5.
6 wins in a row.
I agree. Hopefully they can keep him on the roster. Dude can pick it.
Love it.

but I have zero faith in Chapman here. Honestly I would have left Loaisiga in.

Chapman also got a huge break when Tauchman caught that rocket off a hanging slider. Otherwise you'd have Trout up with 2 men on.
Frazier is IL-bound. Small tear. They’re saying 10-14 days. Weeeee.

With our recent luck he'll hurt the other ankle while re-habbing...
He gave up five but he didn't really have a fastball last night. Saying that, I wouldn't say he really got hammered. He gave up two solo homers to Simmons, and then later didn't get any help from the Snchez error before giving up the 3 run HR to Calhoun. That was just a slider that hung in a bad location and Calhoun jacked it.
CC gutted out five though and finished strong, with Johnny pitching a fantastic three shutout innings to give them time to comeback.
No doubt I would've liked better from CC but I think maybe chasing the 3,000 K's had some effect. He had his whole family flown in for last night and I have to think that had at least a little to do with his start/ focus. He did get three K's last night and needs three more. Hopefully he gets them in his next start in Arizona, and gets it out of the way.
A bit ironic that the chatter is going to be whether DJLM or Estrada should be the 4th OF after we talk all offseason about the OF glut.
Hopefully this 10-14 day stretch of playing 9 innings every day can help Wade settle down and let the game come to him a bit. I won’t kill him for that thing at second base. Lesson learned. (As a fan, I have to say that the cheap little shit like that annoys me). But his speed and glove will be a help. He’s made some really solid plays at the warning track in LF the last few games. He does a really nice job of tracking the ball and finding the wall under control, for a guy who has spent the majority of his development as an IF.
Pretty surprising to see a comeback win like that from this lineup. Nice to see DJLM heat back up a bit.
And yet, the Yankees keep winning. I can't wait for another post today criticizing Boone.

They said there was 'discoloration' is his ankle, that's why they sent him for a MRI. It should only be a couple weeks. They say it's not a bad situation.
A great win for this team though, down 5-0, these guys that are playing now are a scrappy bunch!
The next post will probably be criticizing Sanchez instead, with the golden sombrero, and costly error.
...no one ever heard of.
And welcome back Gary Sánchez, 0-for-4, 4 strikeouts and a crucial fielding error.
what do you mean? he let a guy get to 1B last night. CANNOT BE TRUSTED IN A BIG SPOT.

OF issue goes back to hose earlier trades. How is Rutherford doing? McKinley?
He is indeed. I say it often.
Closers often are in general.
McKinney is struggling too, in Toronto

Mateo hasn't done well, is that correct?
The pitcher, Kaprielian, can't get healthy.

Fowler has been kind of like Wade - keeps playing well in the minors but struggling in the majors. Looking like a AAAA kind of player.
