Just want to shed some perspective on the next few days

Anakim : 4/25/2019 8:39 am
I think it's fair to say that the New York Football Giants play an integral part in all of our lives. Today, tomorrow and Saturday kick off a new future for not only our team, but for us as well. Over the next couple of weeks...months...YEARS, we're going to be discussing, analyzing and following the players we draft and sign. Some of these guys may end up beloved. Some of these may end up despised. Hell, maybe one or two will wind up in the Hall of Fame or the Giants Ring of Honor. But we will remember this day years from now as the first day of a new beginning for the Giants and for all of us.

In the next few days, we will be welcoming around 20 new faces to our beloved organization. Many of them, especially the street free agents, will be forgotten in due time, but not by us. They will be remembered, even as a footnote, by us. Once a Giant, always a Giant.

Tonight, we may acquire our franchise QB. The successor to our beloved Eli. We can only hope that he will be a cornerstone for our team for the next 10-15 years. We hope he will be both a productive, clutch player on the field and a leader and good ambassador off of it as well. Just as all of us revere Eli, we hope this guy can be that same steady and constant presence.

And it all begins tonight. Remember these days because you'll be reminiscing about them for a long, long time, for better or worse. What happens during the next couple of days will dictate the fortune of this team and, in many ways, our happiness.
Beautiful.

You can't shed some perspective, unless you're placing the perspective in a small structure.
Nicely said Anakim...

I can only hope that this perspective is remembered as this year we have a minimum of 12 reasons to over-react and gripe, almost double the normal number.

Great post ...can I add ?

1. Let’s start with “dear Lord”
2. Add a paragraph about giving DG wisdom to choose wisely and
3. Finish with an “Amen”

PS ...Have a nice day !

LOL.

Forgot the part about "the Old Gods and the New".

is this the result of a guided Iowaska experience?
Bravo!

Very impressive and stirring post in the mold of Col Travis' "Victory or Death" letter and also his "line in the stand" speech at the Alamo. Also, Gen Patton of WWII fame who had many memorable speeches!

Damnit, General Anakim. Aftr reading this, I would follow you to the gates of hell AKA Lincoln Financial Field in Philly! I am now fired up for the upcoming draft and season!

Hmmm, maybe you could consider writing something along these lines for certain games in the upcoming season!
It's a good sentiment.

I'd also add, regardless of who you think or don't think should be picked, there's no reason to develop personal agendas against players.

In about twelve hours, half of us are going to be at the other half's throats. You know it and I know it.
I love you man

Tis so true. Wonderful post man. We care so much about the Giants. Please let this be the draft of a lifetime. That draft where we all come here as the years pass and are like.."can you believe he lasted till the 4th round and hes a pro bowl Right tackle" or " hes the best cover corner in the league and we got him at 95?" lets us say...amen.

I've been called a lot... a lot of things in my life some not so nice, maybe some of it deserved but one thing I am proud to be called and have been numerous times is a psychotic Giant fan. My heart, soul and happiness are tied to this organization as the OP staes. I know it's ridiculous but why fight it. I have a busy really solid job an exwife, crazy girlfriend, 2 amazing kids one starting college..thats all well and good..yatta yatta. Big Blue man..the Giants. That's my first and truest love. The giants run through my veins and always will. I know anakim and so many of us feel the same way. Just please let it be "that draft" that sets us on a path to glory and more 2007/8 and 2011/12 moments.

barchu es adonai hamvorach (sorry I was praying)

Was thinking the same thing. 12 years ago you could tell through his posts he was just a young kid learning his way through the world. Clearly he has grown.

Nice post Anak.
