Media has no clue how the top 6 are going to go

Eric from BBI : Admin : 4/25/2019 10:05 am
Surfing channels and the web, I'm not sure I've ever seen a year where so much is up in the air with the top five picks.

Even those who were sure Murray was going to the Cards are now backtracking somewhat.
I have to say,

the uncertainty makes it a lot more fun.
That's a good thing.

It

makes this year that much more interesting!

I have this strange feeling - hopeful mixed with a bit of dread. Perhaps because it is so up in the air.
For the first time that I can remember,

I'm actually getting nervous about the Giants' first-round picks. lol
Because if you give 6 possibilities for the Giants
Giants38 : 4/25/2019 10:08 am : link
At the end of the night, you claim victory. Ranaan named 4 or 5 players. That’s not inside info; that’s naming top D. He’ll only have egg on his face if they go QB, which of course he covers by saying it’s the draft, anything can happen.

In about 12 hours, we’ll know our picks. And I’m HOPING FOR HASKINS!
Say what you want about Gettleman
Biteymax22 : 4/25/2019 10:08 am : link
He's far better at controlling the leaks than Jerry Reese ever was.

Now that I look back on it, I wouldn't be shocked if Marc Ross was the one leaking a lot of info to the media (Ranaan).

Agree.
I think Murray and Bosa are locked in

Beyond that, who knows.

I’ve been on board with pretty much every move DG has made in his tenure ... he seems to approach the draft exactly how I would (BPA, no “special category” for the QB) and build a team how I’d like to

Everything I’ve seen/read suggests Defense will be, by far, the best player available and the no brainer if truly going BPA. We’ll know in 10-11 hours ...

I have faith he doesn’t reach on a mediocre QB in a draft so loaded on the other side of the ball (and a bigger need on the team as well)
Murray goes 1st
Joey in VA : 4/25/2019 10:12 am : link
Then it's going off the rails. The Raiders, Jets, Bucs and the QB mayhem are all huge wildcards. This is the most unsure top 6 I've ever seen.
This is the NFL's dream draft

So much hype and uncertainty, ABC, ESPN, NFL Network Coverage = HUGE numbers
Well done DG

It is so unbelievably delicious looking forward to this draft tonight. No idea what we are doing at 6 we have so many outstanding options.
Wow, I agree with Joey
ZogZerg : 4/25/2019 10:19 am : link
I'm not sold 49s want Bosa. They may certainly take him, but I don't think it's a slam dunk.
My guess at the top 10
dep026 : 4/25/2019 10:19 am : link
Arizona - Murray
SF - Bosa
Jets - Oliver
Oakland - Q. Williams
TB - White
NYG - Allen
Jax - J. Williams
Detroit - Ferrell
Buffalo - Hockenson
Denver - Bush

Jets dont trade because they dont want to drop too far. QB needy teams stay home, once the Giants take Allen. Then it may go something like this..

Cincy - Haskins
Packers - Fant
Miami - Wilkins
Redskins - Jones
Panthers - Murphy
Giants - Lawrence
All I know is this what
DonnieD89 : 4/25/2019 10:20 am : link
JohnC and jtgiants are telling us is consistent with what DG is emphasizing in the draft. We go D at #6 and a QB at #17 if available. I am very mush convince that the #6 pick will be one of Allen, Oliver, Wilkins, or White no matter how the top 5 falls. I just don't think Q Williams will be available. Giants need an impact pass rusher and there may not be one available at #17.

Q is their guy ... which is why they are shopping 3 of their DL. Bosa fills a “need”, Q the better player
My Top 6 picks
jvm52106 : 4/25/2019 10:25 am : link
AZ- Murray
SF- Bosa
NYJ- Oliver
Oak- Haskins
Was- Jones
NYG- Q.Williams
All this talk about Bosa
ryanmkeane : 4/25/2019 10:26 am : link
being a slam dunk...I don't see it.

Starting to wonder and believe that was Ross. Reese kept him despite sucking every year so why even reign him in. Lining up how post NFL career by getting some good will? Shouldn’t speculate but he’s such an asshole it certainly fits his MO
It's because of the flat nature of this draft.
mittenedman : 4/25/2019 10:29 am : link
It's not top heavy but there are red chippers all the way through the 3rd round and then quality prospects through the 5th. I've never seen anything like it.
Murray's odds for the #1 pick have dropped drastically
larryflower37 : 4/25/2019 10:30 am : link
It's going to be a interesting draft.
I think it starts with Arizona taking Q. Williams.
dep- if the second 10 goes as you layed out
Dave on the UWS : 4/25/2019 10:38 am : link
Lock could be our pick at 17.

Some sources of the leaks may be gone. Fired, left or retired. I know of at least one.

Reese's drafts were also better before Ross got the VP role. Now his career is throwing his old team under the bus...

Sure there were a few there. It's nice not to have Jordan Ranaan telling the Bears we want their guy and they need to trade ahead of us to get him...
Everything's going to explode
George : 4/25/2019 11:02 am : link
as soon as the Cardinals pick. I can see two trades in the top five (Jets and Bucs moving down), a surprise choice (Raiders), and the Giants staring at not one but two of the best players in the draft. The first hour of the draft will be chaos.

I think all four of the top QBs will be gone by 17, saving us the agony of having to worry that we pick Jones or Lock, neither of whom seems like a long-term solution for us.

Hoping for Allen or Williams at 6 and Bush or Dillard at 17.
I think it's all BS and the top 5 picks will be the top 5 talents
shockeyisthebest8056 : 4/25/2019 11:42 am : link
we knew all along in some order... Murray, Bosa, Allen, Williams, and Oliver.

(If that happens, I think the Giants are in a very tough spot unless they really did like Haskins and just pulled the wool over everyone's eyes.)

Totally agree, DEF is in play at #6, whether it's Allen or Wilkins one is definitely going to be there. At 17 is where lot's of drama can unfold, maybe we decide to trade up to grab a QB, maybe we stay put, or perhaps trade down if we feel either Jones/Lock will still be on the board, should be "must see TV".
