A lot of us assuming a stud defensive player falls

I'll take the other side of that scenario. I can see a very orderly process by which Arizona takes Murray, and the top blue chippers fall into line.

In that scenario, who is our pick. Taking into consideration Allen, Q Williams, Bosa and White are off the board?

My guess is Ed Oliver. I'm not crazy about the pick but I do think Getty likes these big, athletic guys on the line.

In this scenario, I hope we go right back to the well with defense at 17.

At day's end, I want this night to go all in on one particular need. Not get cute with drips and drabs of stuff here and there. For me something like Oliver, Brian Burns and Rosen is the dream. If no Rosen, wait until next year and get your OT at 37. I can live with Eli one more full year. We will have considerable cap space next year, which also means we will have considerable draft capital to move way up for the right QB. Just my two cents

However something about burns to me that screams bust. I like your premise though and if the Gmen think Burns is a legit edge guy id go along with it.

In that case, I'd listen to see if any team wants to trade up

for Hockenson or an OT. If we make the pick my short list would be:

Ed Oliver
Jonah Williams
Montez Sweat (pending medical)
Devin Bush
Jeffery Simmons (yes, really)
Christian Wilkins

I love Oliver to me that's not much of a downgrade...

that we haven't heard any connection to Jonah Williams. We have all focused on defense abd QB, but I'd have to think he would be in play depending on how the board falls.

better yet I'm hoping:
- a top-3 guy falls to 6 (happens every draft)
- a top-10 guy falls to 17 (happens a lot)

But I think there is a lot of buzz for a couple surprises. Another QB in top 5, trade down by Jets, surprise pick etc.

Wilkens over Oliver now, I just look at Wilkens and see a Gettleman pick through and through, it would be two talented players, but one much bigger then the other, Wilkens would slot right into the defensive end position opposite Hill. You would have two big defensive ends that could both get you 6 -10 sacks.

Oliver is not big.

And by some accounts he's a headcase. Not saying he won't be a good pro, but I definitely have some reservations about him.

of my two take-aways from Gettleman's presser is he is not concerned about a good defensive player being there at #6.

Would move to defensive tackle on passing downs, you would have a Golden, Wilkens, Hill, and Carter lineup. I also think the Giants are going to add an edge rusher also.
