My son has to get all four of his removed (impacted).
I like the practice we were referred to but the cost seems high. Has anyone here recently had family members get impacted wisdom teeth removed? And if so, what was the ballpark cost?
But a trip to South Carolina might be worth looking into had to have all mine removed after an accident and it was pennies on the dollar compared to Florida about 20 years ago
I had 4 impactions and all 4 removed. Also left a little bit of nerve damage. But the worst part was the codein and how freaked out that drug made me. During recovery I thought I was seeing a guy standing outside my window on the roof. I felt like John Lithgow in Twilight Zone.
The only positive was I had it done SB weekend Seahawks-Steelers so I was messed up and got to miss that farce of a game.
It’s such a shame as to the costs of medical procedures Â
My daughter had hers out a few years ago. (Cost in line with quotes above.)
For some reason she didn't take her painkiller for a while, so the anesthesia wore off before the painkiller kicked in. DO NOT LET THAT HAPPEN. She was weeping from the pain. Once the painkiller took effect, it was bad but tolerable.
No dental insurance.
That's in the ballpark of what we were quoted, minus the anesthesia.
Just kidding Eric.
You also have to take into account the anesthesia. That going to be a big nut as well.
Per tooth, or total?
1. Surgical Extraction
2. Soft tissue impact ion
3. Partial bony impaction
4. Full bony impaction
I'm in the process of doing that.
I gave myself a dry socket and it was to date the most painful experience of my life.
Going under was probably worth it. The surgeon damaged a nerve, however. I still have numbness and tingling in my lower left jaw.
Not sure how true it is but in my experience dentists like to bill.

My wife got it 1 day before getting a root canal and saved $600 on that alone

insurance? I had mine done a few years ago, but I don't recall my out of pocket expenses being terribly high.
No dental insurance.
Most dental insurance doesn't cover extractions. In NEPA, it's around $300 per tooth...I expect impacted Wisdom teeth to run higher.
With insurance my out of pocket was somewhere near 120 dollars.
Only had one fully impacted though. Pain was worse the 2nd day for sure

removed for about $600. No insurance
Total for the 2 teeth
Per tooth, or total?
That would be my advice. Worth a shot.
