is really not a good look. If you have that swagger, you believe that you can turn any franchise around because you believe in your own talent. I couldn't ever imagine Mayfield saying that last year, or Darnold for that matter.
innocent and harmless statement. He basically was speaking to being picked after other QB's and saying why he wouldn't care where he was drafted. You guys are making SOMETHING out of absolutely nothing...
If he's willing to sit out a year (like Eli was) Â
A totally normal situation other than in pro sports.
Rosen got his ass kicked last year. The damage a QB can take might end his career. Eli didn’t want to play for that asshole in San Diego. He just never said it out loud.
Kid shouldn’t have said it but how many people want to work for a shitty company that may set u up to fail?
Not really, Eli specifically said he didn't want to play for the Chargers because of they were a terribly run team at that time (turned out to be true). Lock is saying he doesn't want to play for a bad team.

“I’d 100 percent rather go 32nd to the right team than No. 1 to a bad team,’’ Lock told me Thursday morning in a quick chat on the sunny sidelines at Nissan Stadium. “If that happened (being drafted by the Patriots), I’d be honored for sure. Tom’s obviously there for a couple more years, but to be able to sit behind a guy like that and learn from one of the best quarterbacks of all time — if not the best — I think that’s an ideal situation for any quarterback.’’
The phrase "to the right team" gives the quote fuller context.

Poor choice of words on his part obviously. He should have said “I’d 100 percent rather go 32nd to the right team than No. 1 to a team where I might not be a fit’’

I have always wondered about the "what if's" when it comes to the draft, especially with regard to QB's. Take Tim Couch, or damn near ANY QB drafted by the Browns in the last 20-25 years prior to Mayfield. What if Tim Couch had been drafted by a good team, with the opportunity to sit behind a vet and learn for a few years before playing. David Carr too. And Aaron Rodgers....what if he had been thrown to the wolves in year 1 without the opportunity to sit behind Favre? Would he have turned out the same? How many of these guys who are forced to play immediately are basically ruined by the experience before they even have a chance? Obviously we will never know; Rodgers could have just been great from the get go, and the other guys would have sucked no matter if they started in year one or year three. But it is something to think about, and why I dont really disagree with Lock's thoughts here
It's fine, nobody will care.
lol that's what I took out of it.
Ha, that would be hysterical, the Cards pass on Murray only to take Lock as the first pick of the second round.
Say what you want, go where you want.

Yeah, kinda similar - except it's nothing like it...

Which of course you’re shocked by.

That's why I added the full quote.

Eli basically did the same thing?

This was my thought. I would have said no matter where I go that team is going to be good/better.
The kid has some physical tools and a ton of inconsistent shit tape but ppl want to trade up for him
