Goodell has turned the NFL Draft into a complete circus... It's an event that is for the hardcore NFL fan... Artificially "building suspense" is just absurd.
The NFL has so much hoopla and BS after every pick, they always get backed up announcing them. Many times they won't announce a pick until a solid 5+ minutes after it is made. Things are happening while Goodell is bro-hugging everyone. The rounds where they have all the guests announcing picks get really bad.
The team at #1 should be able top announce and set everything in motion should they choose to do so.

watch or not to watch is dependent on knowing who the first pick is? If you are a Cards fan you are tuning in either way because you are interested in seeing them talk about your team, and this is probably their high point of the season. For anyone else, you don't really give a shit what the Cardinals do anyway and are watching either for general interest or due to interest in your own favorite team.
