Any decision on Eli is going to come straight from ownership. Mara is not going to let Eli play in another uniform. I'd expect the extension to be announced before training camp.

Alas, this is probably spot on.
Which begs the question? Why the f-ck even draft a QB in the first round to sit behind Eli for at least two years?

If they wanted to extend, why not before free agency to free cap. Let him play it out at this point. Then again logic and Giants FO dont go hand in hand
He came here by forcing his hand with Chargers and when he got benched he pulled the crying to the media routine.
Eli knows that Maras want a "happy ending" parting and its him saying it wont be IF the Giants take someone who will have to start next year; tonight
I see it worked. Probably about 30-45 mins sfter Sal Pal report, Paul Schwartz, who gets seemingly direct word from Giants, completely reverses course from yesterday snd says Giants are out on Rosen.
After he throws for 4400, 26 tds and helps the offense score 400 plus in 2019. It will be impossible to move on if the giants don’t draft a qb very high here in this draft.
Better OL and better D coupled with an easier schedule. Eli won’t hold this team back. Never has.
As a starter? Whether the Giants let him go or not is one thing. Whether another team will ignore what the rest of the NFL is seeing from Eli is an entirely different matter.

And never will! Let's trot him out there until he's 80!
It's funny how you seem to think 26 passing TDs is impressive. It's really not. That would have tied for 12th in the NFL last season. You don't want more than a middle of the pack QB who's at the age where decline is far more likely than improvement? When did "don't hold the team back" become the acceptable standard? How about elevate the team?

So if he throws for 26 and Barkley runsnfor 15 is that bad? Or is better eli throws for 30 and Barkley runs for 10?
Listen you and I both know we need to score a lot more TDs onnoffense. I don’t give a shit who gets them as long as we get them. If we average 27-28 PPG .... does it matter if Eli throws them or Barkley runs them?
Q. "So how do you like the Giants chances this year?" Â
touche
LOL

Eh, I'm not too sure about that. I guess we will see how it plays out tonight.
Post of the year!

He's my QB this year. He's my QB next year too while I draft one next April to sit a year before replacing him in 2021.
yes two more years of no meaningful Giants football after Halloween
I see two years of no meaningful football after Halloween.
That'll be twenty bucks.
Yeah, and then he ran right out and talked to someone connected with Florio or SalPal. Gimme a break.

he's also the guy that saved your ass in Korea and introduced you to your wife

You haven't seen my wife.
Lol

Have always kept that comment in mind whenever Archie would get headlines by suggesting/hinting Eli's retirement.
